Across many of our ICBC preschools, safe play spaces remain one of our greatest needs. That's why so many teams who visit Eswatini choose to spend their time building playgrounds🛝⚽—creating places where children can learn, grow, and experience the joy of childhood.

Thank you to every team that has picked up a shovel, tightened a bolt🔩🔧, poured concrete, or painted🎨🖌 a swing. Because of you, children will laugh a little louder, play a little longer, and grow up knowing they are deeply loved.

Raising Children in Family, Not Just in Care

Every child in our residential childcare homes is raised in family-style care — a house mother, siblings, a home. Not a dormitory. A family.

A building can provide shelter. A family provides belonging.

A roof can keep the rain out, but it cannot replace the comfort of someone who knows your favourite meal, notices when your smile has faded, celebrates your victories, prays with you before bed, and reminds you every day that you are deeply loved. That is the difference we strive to create for every child in our care.

Our residential childcare homes are intentionally family-centred. The children do not stay in dormitories — they are brought up in family style homes, surrounded by brothers and sisters, cared for by dedicated house mothers who provide stability, nurture, guidance, and unconditional love in a safe family environment. Because every child deserves to belong.

Heading Towards Reintegration and Reunification➡🫂🛖

But our vision extends even further. While we are committed to providing loving family-style homes, we also believe that, wherever it is safe and possible, the best place for a child is within their own family. Our goal has never been to replace mothers, fathers, grandparents, aunts, uncles, or siblings — instead, we walk alongside children while working toward restoration, reunification, and strengthening families whenever possible. This is why family preservation is at the heart of everything we do. Through programmes like Bubele Care, spearheading family strengthening initiatives, and our In Community By Community(ICBC) pastors driving community support, we seek to ensure that fewer children need residential care in the future, and that more children can grow up surrounded by the love of their own families.

Simply put, every child in our care is on a journey toward family—whether that's within the loving family-style homes we've established in Bulembu and Hawane, the future homes being developed at Shiloh Estate, or, wherever safely possible, through restoration and reunification with their own family. Because every child needs this.

What an incredible start to the week! ❤️

Our CCV missions team arrived in Eswatini on Saturday and joined us for worship at Potter's Wheel Church on Sunday before beginning their outreach at Nyathela ICBC.

Over the past two days, the team has been hard at work building a brand-new playground that will bring joy to the children for years to come. They have also spent meaningful time in the Nyathela Preschool, sharing the story of Noah's Ark and teaching the children about God's faithfulness and love.

Today marks the team's final day serving at Nyathela ICBC, and we are so grateful for the impact they have already made through their willingness to serve with love, joy, and compassion.

This is just the beginning of an exciting week together, and we look forward to sharing more updates as the team continues serving across Eswatini. Thank you, CCV, for partnering with us to make a lasting difference in the lives of so many. 💙

Seeing one of our toddlers so snug in one of the beautiful, hand-crafted beanies we received earlier this week brings us so much joy.

Thank you to our friends at City of Hope for blessing our little ones with such incredible warmth and care this winter!
