Swaziland National Network of People Living with HIV and AIDS.

Swaziland National Network of People Living with HIV and AIDS. Information; advice; support; advocacy; counselling.

SWANNEPHA is a non-profit making and non-governmental organisation that was founded in November 2004 out of a desire to have an amplified, unified voice for people living with HIV in Swaziland and also a support structure for the infected and affected by HIV. There had been no such a structure before where PLHIV could be mobilised under one banner in pursuit of a National response to Swaziland’s m

ain socio-economic development and health. About 240 organisations constitute the membership of SWANNEPHA who are operating either as Community Support Groups or Associations. The core mandate of SWANNEPHA is to coordinate the contributions of PLHIV in the national response to HIV and AIDS and the organisation has positioned itself such that it is an infra structural body ideally placed between the statutory sector, Community Support Groups and Associations. The main aim is to support the development of systems that would ensure quality of life for all people infected and affected in the country. Acknowledging that at an external level, SWANNEPHA faces some challenges side by side there also opportunities that are available and internally the organisation has grown into an establishment worth its salt, it is imperative that this strategic plan work towards balancing both forces.
