The Eswatni Epilepsy Organization (EEO) is an organization advocating about the needs of the people living with epilepsy in Eswatini. The organization is the first of its kind in the country. It was formed in the year 2003, by the Patron, His Royal Highness Prince Bandzile and the national director, Mr. The motive of earthling such an organization was the fact that in Eswatini there was no medicat

ion or attention given to those either living with or affected by the condition. Individuals living with epilepsy in Eswatini had to consult with South African doctors. This posed a huge peril as majorities of the epilepsy patients live below poverty line. As a consequence, majority of these patients were not able to access any medical attention, therefore unable to receive any proper support or even manage the condition properly. This eventually led to patients either being mentally challenged or physically disabled. EEO finds its inspiration from doing development that is relevant and meaningful. It is good at promoting, supporting and protecting the rights of a child with epilepsy, expanding the freedom of choices of the child through recognizing the needs of the child’s guardian and building the capacity to the later to ensure they perform their roles effectively

| Bridging Interventions from the Grassroots Level | CAREGIVERS workshop at Hhukwini Inkhundla

Parents and caregivers of Persons with Epilepsy and other Disabilities are the first line responders for meeting the health needs of this population. Epilepsy Organization joined together with parents and caregivers of Hhukwini Inkhundla for education and engagement sessions to bridge the gap between needs and service delivery. We believe in directly engaging parents and caregivers in gaining insight to inform evidence-driven decision-making in programmatic endeavors.

Happy International Epilepsy Day 2026! πŸ’›πŸ’œπŸ’›πŸ’œ

In commemoration, the Eswatini Epilepsy Organization joined together with stakeholders in the Ministry of Health - NCD Unit, the Deputy Prime Minister's Office, Civil Society, the epilepsy community in discussing the theme is , focusing on turning awareness into concrete actions for better safety, inclusion, and understanding.

We were honored to be graced by the presence of the Patron, HRH Prince Bandzile, The Honorable Mduduzi Matsebula, Eswatini Minister of Health, His Excellency Jeremy Liang, Republic of Taiwan to Eswatini Ambassador, Honorable Sandile Nxumalo and Senator Princess Ntfombiyenkhosi Dlamini – Health Portfolio Committee Chairs

We're still reflecting on the overwhelming support we received from you this past Saturday at the Yellow Epilepsy Charity Half-marathon 2026. Wow. Over 1,300 runners! A new record πŸ‘πŸ‘ We cannot thank you enough for helping us spread epilepsy awareness and support for Persons with Epilepsy. Siyabonga Maswati lamahle.πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›

Thank you to the various running clubs who came out, Zithande A.C., Golden Foot Club, Swazi Slojos, Msunduza G.C., UEDF, Oval and others. Thank you to all the stakeholders in the Civil Society Space, Autism Eswatini, Cheshire Homes of Eswatini, the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs for the support. Thank you to the various corporates, including SNG Grant-Thornton, Central Bank of Eswatini, Matsapha Town Council, Eswatini Revenue Service, Lactalis, Ekuphileni Clinic, and others who participated. Our gratitude goes to the Royal Eswatini Sugar Corporation for the generous donation of E22,840.
