The LQBTQiA community is playing a vital role on how they deal with criticism,they ensure that they are confident in defending themselves and in whatever situation they come across as a way of minimising criticism in their everyday lives.

Well for some of those that have already faced a hard phase, they opt for therapy sections .The Manzini National Psycharitic Center is one of the best therapy center that deals with such issue therefore it has become very helpful to the LQBTQi community.

Their aims on what to do in the near future to minimize criticism and discrimination is to have a union that will fight & stand for them in any criticism terms.

There are certain precautions that can be taken to minimize prejudice and discrimination towards the LGBTQIA Community. However today we will look into two of those ways:

1) Psychological research has concluded that active sharing by LGBT people of what their lives are like with people they know – whether in their families, communities or workplaces and schools – is very likely to reduce others' prejudice against LGBT people and increase their support for social and political equality. So basically them talking talking about their lives can minimize discrimination against them because people would now have knowledge about their lives.

2)National Coming Out Day is an efforts to encourage and facilitate the sort of intergroup contact between LGBT people and non-LGBT people that will reduce the latter's prejudice and promote their active opposition to discrimination. However, the disclosure of sexual orientation and gender identity is stressful for a number of reasons. One, people "coming out" do not know how others will react. Two, helping others to overcome their lack of knowledge, reduce their discomfort and increase their empathy is not easy and may stir up negative feelings in the person who is coming out because of earlier prejudice or discrimination they have experienced.

Members of the LGBTQIA Community face a lot of prejudice and discrimination. This week we had an interview with Miss Cebisa Magongo who is a member and ambassador of the LGBTQIA community in Eswatini who addressed this issue emphasising on the fact that they “do not want to be accepted they just want to be tolerated “ ...below is the full video of her interview. This week we would like to look at one of the comments made last week by Siwela where he said “ WHY ARE WE FORCED TO ACCEPT THIS COMMUNITY AS A SOCIETY “!? and we would like to address that statement deeply with your help ofcause ☺️🤷🏽‍♀️....

So, firstly we acknowledge your comment sir and we thank you for raising that 🙏🏽🤝
In this page we do not wish to force anyone to accept the LGBTQIA Community “but” we are for the idea that they should be given the out most respect and that they should be acknowledged as human beings. All we are asking for is that people embrace diversity. Respecting them means treating them like the humans that they are and not causing harm to them either physically or emotionally because you happen to see a man in a women’s clothes and a woman in a men’s clothes. How they dress changes nothing about their humanity and the respect that they also deserve . So let us work on that respect good people let us learn to live with them 🙏🏽....

The LGBTQIA COMMUNITY 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈

The LGBTQIA Community is one group that faces higher rates of rejection,violence and su***de as compared to the general population. The term LGBTQIA is basically an initial for the words lesbians,gays,bisexuals,transgender,questioning,intersex and asexual. Despite having such a diverse nature, people of this community are stil reffered to as “gay community” which does not accurately account for all the words describing the distinct groups within this community.

However despite its diversity the LGBTQIA Community is discriminated against in similar ways. Whilst having to deal with the issues of life ,the LGBTQIA community also has to carry the burden of having to navigate in a world that is not accepting of people who are from this community. With that, people from the LGBTQIA community worry about the impact their sexuality may have on their career paths, religious beliefs,health ,families and friends. They also have to worry about the coming out process and people’s reactions towards it, which at times leads to unhealthy coping strategies .

Having said that this brings me to the question that HOW DO YOU THINK THE SOCIETY FEELS ABOUT THE LGBTQIA COMMUNITY 🏳️‍🌈 ??
