The Struggle in our Nation is Real!!
Pardon: To those from the country suburbs and Estates

We come from Buhleni and Lavumisa where it's either us or the cattle find water to drink for the day, depending on who got to the muddy well first. We know how it feels when a 1 year old grabs the cup by force on the mother's hand and sips till the mud blocks their face. We know how it feels to be helpless when your neighbour begs for porridge leftovers just to take their ARVs😢
We are the ones who cannot afford to see the coming generation of Primary School kids walk more than 5 km to and from school during Winter without shoes. We are the ones who hoped for the return of Samaritan's Purse Charity for new clothes. We are the ones who were shocked by our Grade 2 teacher that proteins were a must in a balanced meal. All we knew was "nakuneliphalishi nje kuphelele"(as long as porridge is served it's a meal). 😭
We are the once who see even our born again Christian brothers absent from church because it's ma*****na harvest season. We are the once who see our younger sisters turn to prostitution just to buy themselves sanitary pads. We are still the ones who crowd Asian supermarkets in search for jobs together with our graduated sisters and brothers. If space and ink permitted I'd be saying more...
