🍉 A Taste of Taiwan’s Sweetness, Ten Thousand Miles Away 🇹🇼🇸🇿
The Taiwan Technical Mission in Eswatini, through our "Emerging Fruit Tree Project," recently hosted an exciting tasting event at SuperSpar! Our goal was to share the refreshing sweetness of Taiwanese mini watermelons with our local friends here. ✨
For a long time, the local market has been dominated by large watermelons. To diversify the fruit options available, we introduced the Taiwanese variety "Diana." 💛❤️ The striking contrast between its bright yellow rind and vibrant red flesh sparked great curiosity among the crowd. Many were pleasantly surprised by its crisp texture and intense sweetness, which completely redefined their expectations of what a watermelon can be! 😲👏
For our mission, this was more than just a tasting event—it was a real-world practice of Taiwan’s agricultural expertise in a foreign land. 🌍 We are heartened to see our breeding technology recognized by local retailers, with these melons now officially available on the shelves of SuperSpar, giving more local residents the chance to enjoy high-quality Taiwanese produce. 🛒🌱
Every single mini watermelon represents the hard work and dedication of our mission members and local farmers. 💪 We will continue to work hard in our roles in agricultural diplomacy, ensuring that Taiwan’s technical strength continues to bear the sweetest fruits on the soil of our ally. ☀️🍉


🍉 跨越萬里的台灣清甜滋味 🇹🇼🇸🇿
駐史瓦帝尼技術團「新興果樹產銷輔導計畫」在 SuperSpar 超市舉辦了一場別開生面的台灣小西瓜試吃活動，想把台灣這份清甜分享給當地的朋友。✨
長期以來，史國市場多以大型西瓜為主。為了豐富當地的果樹多樣性，我們引進了台灣品種 「黛安娜」。💛❤️ 亮黃外皮與鮮紅果肉的強烈對比，讓現場試吃的民眾感到非常新奇；其清脆、高甜度的口感，更打破了當地對西瓜的既有印象！😲👏
對技術團而言，這不只是一次試吃，更是台灣農業實力在異鄉的具體實踐。我們很欣慰這份來自台灣的育種技術能獲得在地通路的認可，正式進入 SuperSpar 等超市體系，讓更多當地居民有機會品嚐到台灣的高品質農產。🛒🌱

🌱✨ 🌾 Grow Better Fruit Without Breaking the Bank! Taiwan Team's Low-Cost Magic🎉👨‍🌾
The "Emerging Fruit Tree Production, Marketing and Capacity Building Project" hosted a workshop assisting Eswatini guava🍐 and dragon fruit🐉🍈 farmers to achieve cost reduction💰 and environmental sustainability🌍!
The course covered organic composting♻️, agricultural lime pest control🛡️, newspaper packaging📰, strategic fruit thinning✂️, and dragon fruit low-cost trellis systems🔧—reducing external input dependence while enhancing soil health🌿.
A watermelon grafting session🍉➕🌱 was also featured, covering principles, rootstock selection, and healing management to boost disease resistance and yields📈!
Through cost-benefit analysis📊 and quality grading concepts🏆, farmers developed commercial capabilities and market-oriented thinking🎯.
Farmers praised the practical, easy-to-implement techniques👍 and felt confident about improving profitability💪✨! The workshop effectively cut production costs, strengthened economic resilience, and demonstrated the Taiwan Technical Mission's achievements in sustainable agriculture🏆🌾

Today, our NCD project, together with the Ministry of Health and the Taiwan-Africa Vegetable Initiative (TAVI), brought health to Edlozini School and hosted a “School Health Day” for 167 secondary school students and 106 primary school children 🏫.

The event started with a 30-minute aerobic session, where the children danced along to the music, filling the air with laughter and energy 💃🏽🕺🏽🎶.

We continued with a two-hour journey into health knowledge 📚. We talked about hypertension and diabetes 🩺, discussed the prevention of to***co, alcohol, and drug use 🚭🍺❌, and highlighted the importance of reproductive health and mental well-being ❤️. We also shared how to maintain a balanced diet for a healthier life 🥗💪🏽.

In remote mountain areas where resources are limited, children have few opportunities to access health knowledge, which makes our work even more meaningful 💛. We will continue reaching more schools, bringing health knowledge step by step, so that health is no longer distant, but becomes a natural part of children’s everyday lives as they grow 🌱.

今天，我們的慢性病計畫和衛生部、TAVI夥伴們一起，把健康帶進了位於深山的Edlozini School，為167位中學生與106位小學生舉辦了一場充滿活力的「校園健康日」🏫。

首先是30分鐘的有氧體操孩子們跟著節奏動起來，笑聲和汗水一起飛揚💃🏽🕺🏽🎶；接著我們展開了一場兩小時的健康知識之旅📚。我們和孩子們聊高血壓與糖尿病，談菸酒與毒品防治🚭🍺❌，認識生殖健康，也不忘關心心理健康❤️，還有如何吃得均衡、活得有力🥗💪🏽。

在資源有限的深山裡，這些孩子接觸健康知識的機會並不多，也因此讓我們的活動顯得珍貴💛。我們會繼續走進更多校園，把這些知識一點一滴地帶過去，讓健康不再遙遠，而是陪伴孩子們長大的日常🌱。

Launched today on March 31, the program brings together current beneficiaries and experienced industry mentors to support participants throughout their journey.

We aim to recruit up to 200 local micro and small entrepreneurs in Eswatini, especially women. Participants will receive structured training and mentorship to strengthen their business capabilities.

Those who complete the full program and pass the selection process will have the opportunity to join entrepreneurship competitions, win awards and prizes, and access start-up funding support.

Our NCD Project partnered with the Ministry of Health to train 42 Rural Health Motivators (RHMs) through a 2.5-day training course this week. From learning about balanced nutrition under the Taiwan–Africa Vegetable Initiative (TAVI) Project to gaining knowledge on diabetes and hypertension prevention from facilitators within our NCD Project 👩‍🏫, these community heroes are becoming proficient in blood pressure and glucose measurements 🩺💉, steadily strengthening community health service capacity in Eswatini 💪.

In the future, as they visit households and connect with families, it may be through a simple reminder: “Remember to check your blood pressure ❤️,” or a small change in action: “Let’s grow vegetables together 🥬🫘!” In these daily moments, health knowledge is shared and put into practice, allowing the seeds of NCD prevention to slowly take root 🥰.

本週我們慢性病計畫攜手衛生部，透過為期兩天半的訓練培訓了42位來自各鄉里的社區衛生工作者(RHM)。從透過「臺灣—非洲蔬菜倡議計畫」(TAVI) 的講師學習均衡飲食，到由本計畫講師帶領認識糖尿病與高血壓的預防知識 👩‍🏫，這些社區英雄正逐步熟練血壓與血糖的測量技能 🩺💉，持續強化史瓦帝尼的社區健康服務能力 💪。

未來，當他們走進家戶關懷鄰里民眾時，也許是一句日常提醒：「記得量血壓喔 ❤️。」也許是一個行動改變：「我們一起種菜吧 🥬🫘！」就在這些日常片刻中，健康知識被分享、被實踐，也讓預防非傳染性疾病的種子慢慢扎根 🥰。

🐟 Ministry of Agriculture Officials Visit the Aquaculture Centre
Recently, Principal Human Resource Officer Mr. Sibusiso Ndzinisa and Under Secretary Mr. Musa Ndzima visited the Aquaculture Centre to learn about its daily operations and engage with the team.
During the visit, the team presented research results on locally developed fish feed, highlighting its potential to improve productivity and enhance farmers’ livelihoods. Acting Senior Agricultural Officer Mr. Boy Mavuso also conducted a practical demonstration of the incubator system, explaining how fingerling production has been significantly increased.
Key focuses of the visit included:
🔹 Supporting government efforts to promote the decentralisation of aquaculture research and production
🔹 Assessing research and development progress as a basis for planning
🔹 Reviewing the project’s sustainability in terms of financial and human resource capacity
The Aquaculture Centre will continue advancing technology development and talent training, fostering the growth of aquaculture and contributing to food security and economic development 🌱🐟

🐟 史瓦帝尼農業部官員參訪水產養殖中心
近日，農業部人力資源處首席官員 Sibusiso Ndzinisa 先生與常務次長 Musa Ndzima 先生到訪水產養殖中心，了解中心日常運作並與工作團隊交流。
參訪過程中，團隊展示了本地研發魚飼料的研究成果，說明其在提升生產力與改善漁民生計上的潛力。代理高級農業官員 Boy Mavuso 先生也進行了孵化器系統的實地示範，並說明魚苗產量提升的原理。
此次參訪重點包括：

🍓✨Eswatini Strawberries Enter International Markets: Technical Mission Support Drives Strong Sales in Taiwan🍓✨

Under the support of the Taiwan Technical Mission’s Emerging Fruit Tree Production, Marketing and Capacity Building Project, the Hawane Multi-purpose Cooperative, guided by Specialist Alex Lin, has successfully established a stable strawberry production and marketing system. Through improved cultivation techniques and quality control, strawberries produced by local farmers are now supplied to Eswatini’s well-known Black Mamba jam factory, serving as a key ingredient in its value-added products.👨‍🌾
Building on this partnership, these processed products successfully entered Taiwan’s Leezen retail market in March this year, where they quickly gained popularity and achieved strong sales performance. This milestone not only highlights the high quality of Eswatini-grown strawberries, but also demonstrates the successful integration of local farmers into international markets.🌍
Specialist Alex Lin emphasized that the project will continue strengthening farmers’ technical capacity and market-oriented production. By integrating production and marketing strategies and fostering partnerships with established brands, the initiative aims to further enhance product value and create new opportunities for agricultural development in Eswatini.🍓🌟

🍓✨史瓦帝尼草莓成功進軍國際市場　技術團輔導促成里仁熱銷佳績🍓✨

在技術團「新興果樹產銷輔導計畫」的積極推動下，由技師林澤延輔導的 Hawane 農民合作社，成功建立穩定的草莓生產與銷售體系。透過技術提升與品質控管，合作社農民所生產的草莓順利供應至史瓦帝尼知名品牌 Black Mamba 果醬工廠，成為其特色產品的重要原料來源。👨‍🌾
進一步透過產業鏈合作，相關加工產品於今年3月成功進入臺灣里仁超市通路販售，並迅速獲得消費者青睞，創下熱銷佳績。此一成果不僅展現史瓦帝尼草莓的優良品質，也象徵在地農民成功接軌國際市場。🌍
林澤延技師表示，未來將持續強化農民栽培技術與市場導向能力，透過產銷整合與品牌合作，提升農產品附加價值，為史瓦帝尼農業發展創造更多可能。🍓🌟
