Last Thursday, we were delighted to welcome a small delegation of six women from Sweden to Siphilile here in Eswatini 🇸🇿.

After sharing an overview of our programme aims and outcomes, we conducted home visits where our guests witnessed firsthand the impact of our work — from supporting a low birth weight infant’s growth journey to engaging a Male Champion who shared how the Mentor Father initiative has strengthened his role within his family.

The visit also highlighted ongoing challenges such as birth registration barriers affecting children’s access to services.

In a touching gesture, our Swedish sisters brought handmade garments for newborns, perfect for the colder days ahead. 💙

Grateful for partnership, learning, and shared commitment to strengthening families.

Siphilile MCH End-of-Year Staff Meeting Highlights

As we wrapped up 2025, the Siphilile MCH team came together for a productive and empowering end-of-year staff meeting. The session covered key updates and important learning moments that will guide our work.

The team received a festive COVID-19 safety refresher from Health Promotion reps Calvin and Coli, emphasizing staying healthy during the holidays. ENPF reps Sandile and Thabani also presented key information on benefits, contributions, and staff responsibilities to keep everyone informed about their financial and social security.

As we close the year, Siphilile MCH extends heartfelt appreciation to our partners, stakeholders, and community members for their unwavering support throughout 2025.

We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

🌍💙 World Diabetes Day — 14 November

Today, we join the global community in raising awareness for diabetes under this year’s theme: “Access to Diabetes Care: Know Your Risk, Know Your Response.”

Diabetes affects individuals and families across all stages of life — including mothers, infants, and young people. As a Maternal & Child Health (MCH) organization, we are playing our part in the community by:
• Supporting early screening and education for mothers and families
• Promoting healthy lifestyles during pregnancy and childhood
• Raising awareness about gestational diabetes and its long-term impacts
• Empowering communities with knowledge and access to essential care

Together, we can build healthier families and ensure that everyone, especially mothers and children, has the tools, support, and care they need.

💙 Let’s stand together for better health for every generation.

November | Men’s Month

“This Men’s Month, I celebrate the role of men as partners in building healthier families and stronger communities. As a Mentor Father, I stand for responsible fatherhood, supportive partnerships, and the well-being of mothers and children. When men care, families thrive.”

These are the words of Mr. Mbingo, a dedicated Mentor Father working in the Ludzeludze Constituency.

Mentor Fathers play a vital role in engaging other fathers and young men — creating safe spaces to discuss sexual and reproductive health (SRH), promote positive masculinity, and support family wellbeing. Together, we are shaping a generation of informed, caring, and responsible men.

FAMILY HEALTH FORUM | This past Saturday, Siphilile Maternal & Child Health was honored to host Special Olympics Eswatini at our offices for a meaningful Family Health Forum Meeting.
The event was made possible through the generous support of the Lions International Club, and we were enriched by the expertise of Occupational Therapist, Sharon Hlatshwayo (Mbabane Government Hospital), who shared practical insights on critical developmental milestones and the importance
of early identification of children with special needs.

Importantly, the session was highly beneficial to Siphilile’s management, Mentor Mothers, Mentor Fathers, and Young Mentor Mothers, equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to strengthen their work with families and children in the community.
Beyond the valuable knowledge shared, the gathering served as a strong reminder of the power of collaboration among sister organizations. Working together enables us to expand our reach, leverage our strengths, and respond more effectively to the needs of children and families in our communities.

At Siphilile, we deeply value these partnerships and look forward to building more collaborative efforts that will ensure every child is supported to reach their fullest potential.

A Platform for Men`s Honest Conversations and Community Dialogue|

On Friday, 20 June 2025, we successfully hosted the “Kudliwa Inhloko – Gathering of Men” session at the Manzini South Constituency.
We were thrilled to witness a strong turnout of men coming together to share their experiences, engage in meaningful discussions on pressing community issues, and receive essential health education. Many participants expressed their gratitude for the safe and open platform that allowed them to voice their concerns and ask important health-related questions.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the following partners for their invaluable support:
• Manzini South Constituency Leadership
• King Sobhuza II Public Health Unit (PHU)
• Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) – Sitsandziwe Clinic

Together, we are breaking barriers and creating opportunities for men to be active participants in improving not only their own health but also the wellbeing of their families and communities
