Yet Trust collaborated with tertiary students from various tertiary institutions under the SAFRAP project on the 7th of May having a capacity building activity, supporting the strengthening of the youth, students and organizational work as student leaders deliberated on the deteriorating state of tertiary education and the need for coordinated advocacy. During the collaboration, students engaged on discussions that highlighted the importance of strengthening relations with human rights organizations and progressive movements, and developing partner-driven programmes to respond effectively to the education crisis. Looking ahead, students will continue focusing on building student advocacy capacity through structured training and organizational strengthening, including supporting students to engage relevant stakeholders such as government ministries in order to challenge policies and structures affecting academic freedom and democratic student participation.
