The Swaziland Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (SOCGA) affiliated to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in 1972. Since then, SOCGA has developed into a multifaceted sports organization pursuing its primary goal of promoting the Olympic Movement and Olympism throughout the Kingdom of Swaziland and leading Swazi Athletes to Olympic Games every quadrennial. It is SOCGA’s belief that

it will be able to blend sport with culture and education to promote Olympism, cultivate ethical and moral values, foster friendship and contribute to nation building. The role of the Olympic movement is to promote the development of those physical and moral values forming the basis of sport. Ongoing AUSC Region 5 Youth Games Maputo 2026 – Chef de Mission & General Team Managers Meeting

The Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (EOCGA) is proud to be part of the ongoing African Union Sports Council Region 5 Youth Games Maputo 2026 Chef de Mission and General Team Managers Meeting currently underway in Maputo.

Representing Eswatini at this important preparatory engagement are:

🌍✨ Earth Day 2026 | Our Power, Our Planet ✨🌱

The Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (EOCGA), alongside the Eswatini Environmental Authority, Eco Harmony, IDM Institute, the European Union Empowerment Fund, YSDC, and UNIGEPS, proudly celebrated Earth Day 2026 at the Olympafrica Hall.

This impactful day brought together partners and the community in a shared commitment to environmental sustainability and climate action. 🌿 Together, we planted four trees within the facility—symbolizing growth, responsibility, and our collective duty to protect our planet.

Inspiring messages were delivered by EOCGA CEO Maxwell Jele, who emphasized the role of sport in driving sustainability, while Dedit Musaafizi highlighted the power of youth in environmental change. Bandile and Zandisile Howe reinforced the importance of strong partnerships in tackling climate challenges.

⚽🏃‍♂️ The day was filled with energy and joy, featuring fun sporting activities such as kids’ athletics and an exciting tug of war—reminding us that sport and sustainability go hand in hand.

It was truly a memorable and meaningful celebration. As EOCGA, we remain committed to promoting clean, sustainable practices and deeply appreciate the continued support of our valued partners.

📍EOCGA Corporate Governance Workshop Underway

The Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association is currently hosting a Corporate Governance Workshop at the EOCGA Headquarters Hall, bringing together Executive Members from National Federations.

This important capacity-building programme is being delivered by SAMKHO Consultancy Firm over three consecutive weekends:
🗓️ 18–19 April
🗓️ 26 April
🗓️ 2–3 May

Participants have been grouped to allow focused and impactful engagement, with each group attending a dedicated two-day session.

The workshop is designed to strengthen governance structures, enhance leadership effectiveness, and promote accountability across the sports movement in Eswatini.

The seminar, taking place from 9–11 April 2026, brings together representatives from National Olympic Committees around the world to prepare for the upcoming Youth Olympic Games.

🚴‍♂️ EOCGA CELEBRATES COACHING EXCELLENCE 🇸🇿

The Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association proudly congratulates Mr William Kelly on successfully completing the prestigious UCI World Cycling Centre Level 3 Coaching Diploma.

Mr Kelly recently visited the EOCGA offices to present his certificate following the course held in Aigle from 1–23 April 2025. This elite qualification is a significant milestone in advancing high-performance coaching standards in Eswatini, particularly in the sport of cycling.

This achievement was made possible through funding support from Olympic Solidarity, facilitated by EOCGA—demonstrating our continued commitment to developing world-class coaches and strengthening the national sports system.

CEO’s Remarks – Maxwell Jele:
“On behalf of EOCGA, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Mr Kelly for this outstanding achievement. Attaining a Level 3 Coaching Diploma from the UCI World Cycling Centre is no small feat—it represents excellence, dedication, and global-standard expertise. Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (EOCGA) is proud to be represented at the ongoing Commonwealth Games Chef de Mission (CDM) Seminar taking place in Glasgow from 23–27 March.

EOCGA is represented by CDM & Vice President Mr Zakhele Dlamini and CEO Mr Maxwell Jele, who are engaging with key stakeholders and fellow Commonwealth nations in preparation for the upcoming Games.

Yesterday, the Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association proudly hosted the Graduation Ceremony of 70 Level 2 Sports Administration students at the EOCGA Hall in Lobamba.

The ceremony was further honoured by the presence of Muriel Hofer, CEO of EOCGA, and Zombodze Magagula, whose support and leadership continue to inspire the growth of sport in the country.

This milestone marks a significant step in strengthening the capacity of sports leaders and administrators in Eswatini. Through the Olympic Solidarity and Olympic Education Programme, these graduates are now better equipped with the knowledge and skills to drive sport development, governance, and excellence across the country.

AUSC Region 5 Strategic Plan Review Forum

The AUSC Region 5 Strategic Plan Review Forum has officially opened in Maputo, Mozambique, bringing together regional leaders, experts, and partners to review progress and shape the next chapter of sport development across Southern Africa. 🌍🏅

Among the participants is Mr. Maxwell Jele, Secretary of ANOCA Zone VI, who is attending the forum in his regional capacity. During the forum, Mr. Jele delivered a presentation titled “The Road to Brisbane via Los Angeles – A Strategic Pathway for the Region.”

The presentation highlighted the region’s strategic approach to preparing athletes for the upcoming Olympic cycle leading to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games and ultimately the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games. 🏃‍♂️🥇

The forum serves as an important platform for dialogue on governance, athlete development pathways, and sustainable investment in sport, positioning sport as a key driver of youth empowerment, social inclusion, and regional integration across Southern Africa.

Commonwealth Day Celebration 🇸🇿🏃‍♂️🥊

The Commonwealth Day celebrations continued as the Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (EOCGA), the CGA of Eswatini, visited Lobamba St Mary’s Primary School to celebrate with the young learners. 🌍✨

The event brought excitement and inspiration as students interacted with some of Eswatini’s sporting heroes, including national 100m and 200m record holder Sibusiso Matsenjwa, famously known as “Swazi-Bolt,” and talented boxer Thabiso Dlamini. 🏃‍♂️🥊

Addressing the learners, Mr. Thoba Mazibuko from EOCGA shared a brief history of the Commonwealth, the significance of the Commonwealth Games, and highlighted this year’s theme focusing on Sustainability, Partnerships, Youth, and Technology. 🌱🤝💻

The visit, supported by EOCGA staff and volunteers, aimed to inspire young minds through sport, education, and the values of the Commonwealth movement. 🇸🇿
