Thank you, Eswatini Youth 🇸🇿

On behalf of OWIT Eswatini, thank you to everyone who made today’s Youth Skills Development and Empowerment Programme a success.

To our partners, facilitators, and hosts — your time, expertise, and support turned an idea into real impact. You showed up for Eswatini’s youth, and it mattered.

To the young people who filled the room — your energy, questions, and commitment reminded us why this work matters. You came to learn, to build, and to lead. That’s how we change the future.

Today was about more than skills. It was about proving that when we invest in young people, Eswatini moves forward.

We’re proud of what we started today. Let’s keep building a skilled, confident, and resilient generation — together.

Thank you for being part of it.

🌿 HEARTFELT APPRECIATION: A RESOUNDING SUCCESS!

The dust has settled at Macwele Farm, but the momentum for the Eswatini Organic and Medicinal Herbs and Spices Project is just beginning. Yesterday’s Turmeric Value Chain Awareness Field Day was a landmark event, and it would not have been possible without the presence and active participation of stakeholders from across the kingdom.

We extend our deepest gratitude to:

🏛️ The Ministry of Agriculture & Malkerns Research Centre: For the visionary leadership, the Keynote address, and the essential technical research that ensures our local crops meet international standards.

📈 Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA): For joining us to explore how we can position Eswatini’s turmeric on the global stage.

🎓 University of Eswatini (UNESWA) Horticulture Department: For providing the scientific and innovation perspective essential for high-yield, quality production.

🇸🇿 Hon. Manzi Zwane (Nhlambeni MP): Our gracious host MP and member of the Agriculture Portfolio Committee, for your leadership and dedication to the development of your constituency and the sector.

🤝 Community Development Officers: From various Tinkhundla, your role in mobilizing and supporting rural development is the backbone of this project.

💰 Financial Institutions: A special thanks to the Eswatini Building Society (EBS) and IDCE for recognizing the financial potential of agripreneurs and engaging with us on the path to economic empowerment.

👩‍🌾 Our Farmers & Agripreneurs: You are the heart of this value chain. Your commitment to learning and growth is what will transform our economy.

🎥 Media Houses: For ensuring that the message of "The Turmeric Revolution" reaches every corner of Eswatini.

🤝 Our Project Partners: Amandla Omnotho Eswatini and Innova, for your technical expertise and dedication to unlocking markets in Germany and South Africa.

🏡 The Macwele Family: For opening your farm and sharing your production journey so transparently.

The Takeaway of the Day

With potential returns of E4 Million per hectare and a clear roadmap for August planting, the conversation has shifted from "what if" to "how soon."

As our President, Ms. Duduzile Nhlengetfwa, noted during the introductions, we are building an ecosystem that is market-ready and inclusive. 🌍🇸🇿

Thank you for being part of this historic day. Let’s keep the soil warm and the vision clear!

#16 Days of Activism Against GBV
At OWIT Eswatini, we believe that true economic empowerment begins with safety, dignity, and freedom from violence. No woman, man, or child can fully participate in business, trade, or community development when living in fear.

We join the global call to and stand in solidarity with survivors — and with all those working tirelessly to create safer homes, workplaces, and communities.

We recognize that GBV affects everyone, including men and boys, and we strongly condemn all forms of abuse that hinder progress, peace, and prosperity.

OWIT Eswatini stands for protection.
OWIT Eswatini stands for empowerment.
OWIT Eswatini stands for change.
