Today a strategic alliance was forged between Cape Town based investment advisory firm, Independent Actuaries and Consultants (IAC) and the UNESWA Endowment Fund.
The two entities entered into an agreement towards the development of an investment policy that will guide investment goals, objectives, asset allocation, risk tolerance and strategies of the Endowment Fund.
The milestone achievement follows the business model pivot of the Endowment Fund towards a commercial and investment - driven approach. The transformation journey of the Fund has included the adoption of a new 5 year strategic roadmap, corporate identity rebrand, establishment of six new business units, strengthened HR capacity, and enhanced ICT capabilities.
During the signing event, the Chief Executive Officer of the Endowment Fund, Vuli Simelane indicated that the Endowment's philosophy entails leveraging innovative and blended finance techniques and mechanisms. This approach helps facilitate multiple income streams while circumventing the acute operational risks emanating from the conventional single - source funding method.
Meanwhile, and signaling his company's commitment to the markets in which it operates, Asim Gani, Managing Director of IAC highlighted that the partnership with the UNESWA Endowment Fund will serve as a catalyst for fast-tracking the Fund's mandate of fostering the University of Eswatini's long-term financial sustainability.
