27/03/2026

On Friday, 20 March 2026, we had our first Women in Economics Girls Night In session under the guidance of Miss Sephutile Mhlongo, marking the conclusion of our mentorship journey โœจ.

This was not your conventional networking event, but it was just as powerfulโ€”if not more ๐Ÿ’ซ. The evening created a relaxed and intentional space for reflection, learning, and meaningful connection ๐Ÿค.

We were privileged to gain invaluable insights from our speakers ๐ŸŽค. Miss Sharon opened the night with a powerful conversation on value, reminding us that value is not one-sidedโ€”it is both given and received ๐Ÿ’ก. She emphasized the importance of understanding ourselves, maintaining a healthy work-life balance โš–๏ธ, being mindful of our mental health ๐Ÿง , and having the courage to ask for help ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ.

Miss Bagezile Dube guided us through the importance of identity and building a strong personal foundation ๐ŸŒฑ. She encouraged us to define who we are, where we are going, and the value we bring ๐ŸŒ, while sharing her inspiring career journey ๐Ÿš€. She reminded us that while degrees open doors ๐ŸŽ“, reputation and relationships keep you in the room ๐Ÿค.

We are incredibly grateful to our mentor, Miss Sephutile, for her warmth, hospitality, and intentional investment in our growth throughout this journey ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ. Beyond the lessons, we shared meals ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ, laughter ๐Ÿ˜„, and meaningful conversations that strengthened our sense of community ๐Ÿค—.

This was a beautiful way to close off the mentorship programโ€”and the first of many impactful gatherings to come ๐ŸŒŸ.
