In Maaloula, one of Syria’s oldest Christian villages, winter is more than cold it is fear, hunger, and long nights without warmth. Years of war and poverty have left families struggling to survive, and children suffer the most.

Lina and her brother Rami had not owned a winter coat for years. Their mother shared how she lay awake at night, knowing her children were freezing, able to offer nothing but her arms.

During ARAMAIC RELIEF’s first winter distribution in Maaloula, everything changed. When Lina and Rami received warm jackets and blankets, their faces lit up. Rami refused to take off his coat, saying it felt “like a hug that stays.” Lina wrapped herself in her blanket as if it were a treasure.

We are supporting an elderly care center that brings comfort and dignity to older people who are often forgotten or alone. The Mar Asia Elderly Home in Al-Qamishli, together with lonely seniors from the surrounding area, receives vital support through regular food, medication, medical care, and psychological assistance.

Each week, around 50 seniors come together to share activities, a warm meal, and most importantly a sense of belonging and community. This Christmas, we celebrated with those who have no family, sharing joy, love, and hope, and reminding them that they are seen, valued, and never alone. ❤️

In the village of Al-Kharab in Tartous, father of three Jibran lived with unbearable pain from severe kidney stones. Work became impossible, and each day grew harder for his family, until your support changed everything.

Through our humanitarian medical project, Jibran received a delicate laser procedure that safely broke up the stones and ended his suffering. Today, he’s back on his feet, working pain-free and providing for his children again.

Jibran sends his heartfelt thanks and prays that this life-saving work continues for others in need.

Our first winter distribution in Maaloula, Syria touched hearts in ways words can barely describe. In a village still scarred by conflict, many children face the freezing cold with thin clothes, fragile homes, and silent hopes.

When they received warm jackets and blankets, their faces lit up with a joy that had been missing for far too long. Parents held back tears of relief. Children wrapped themselves in their new blankets as if holding onto a piece of hope, because for them, that’s exactly what it is.
