August 3, 2014, is not merely a day in history; it is a wound in the body of our homeland, a wound that has yet to heal.
The genocide against the Ezidi people was a day when the peace and security of thousands of families were shattered. Lives were lost, families were torn apart, and thousands were forced to leave their homes and homeland.
We commemorate this day with respect for the victims, listen to the voices of survivors, and stand for justice, truth, and a commitment to ensuring that such crimes are never repeated.
