Behind every child we see on the streets is a story that deserves to be heard, a need that deserves to be addressed, and a dream that deserves a chance.
“Abnaa Al-Shams” 🌞 was more than an event. It was a call to recognize children living and working on the streets as children first — children with rights, dignity, aspirations, and a future.
We came together to shed light on an issue that is too often overlooked, and to create a space for dialogue, collaboration, and collective responsibility.
Because child protection begins before a child reaches the street.
Preventing children from being exposed to street life requires more than individual efforts. It requires coordinated action, stronger community support, and meaningful partnerships among institutions, organizations, civil society, and the wider community.
“Abnaa Al-Shams” is a message of commitment:
Every child deserves to grow up in a safe environment, have access to education and protection, and be given the opportunity to dream and build a future.
Because children belong in safe spaces, schools, families, and communities — not on the
streets. ☀️

At Saiyar, we believe that education is more than just books and notebooks…
Education is an opportunity for a child who might have lost their way to discover that they have a place, a right, and a future. 💛💚

To the Education Team at Saiyar,
thank you for opening a new door for a child every day, and for reminding them:
“You deserve to learn… and you deserve a future.” 📚

Happy World Teachers’ Day!
May you always be part of the journey of children reclaiming their right to education and to a better life.

Saiyar Team – Homs 💛💚

Saiyar Homs welcomed a delegation from Switzerland and Italy, including representatives of Children’s Garden and ACTA, in the presence of Father Jerry, SJ, Head of the Monastery of the Savior.💛💚

The visit included a series of recreational and interactive activities that brought together the children, the visiting delegation, and Saiyar volunteers in an atmosphere of joy, communication, and meaningful exchange.💛💚

At the end of the activities, the children shared lunch with the guests and the Saiyar team, creating a space that reflected the values of participation and inclusion, and highlighted the importance of integrating children into their communities and creating safe spaces where they can interact, participate, and feel a sense of belonging.💛💚

At Saiyar, we believe that child protection is not limited to providing support; it also begins with building a community environment where every child feels welcomed, valued, and able to take an active part in society.🙏💛💚

“Children of the Sun” was not just an event…
It was a call to see what we have become accustomed to overlooking. ☀️

Children living and working on the streets, each with a story, a need, a dream, and a right.

On this day, we came together to bring the issue of street-connected children into the focus of our community, and to create a space for dialogue and partnership among institutions, organizations, civil society, and everyone who can be part of the solution.

Because child protection does not begin when we see a child on the street…
It begins before they ever get there. 💚💛

And because the solution cannot be created by one actor alone,
we must build it together.

These children are not just numbers or passing stories…

They are victims of a war they never chose, victims of violence they never deserved, and victims of families where safety, care, and attention were absent.

Children who have been deprived of the simplest rights: to live their childhood in peace, to feel safe, and to have someone protect and embrace them.

Behind every face is a story of pain…
And behind every child is a right to a better life. 🤍

Because no child should ever have to pay the price for the mistakes of adults.
