بمناسبة عيد الأضحى المبارك، نظم فريق مركز الهلك المجتمعي نشاطًا ترفيهيًا للأطفال من عمر 9 إلى 13 عامًا، بهدف إدخال بهجة العيد إلى قلوبهم وخلق مساحة مليئة باللعب والتفاعل.

تضمن النشاط ألعابًا تنشيطية ساعدت الأطفال على التعاون، المشاركة، وقضاء وقت ممتع معًا في أجواء مليئة بالضحكات والفرح.

لحظات بسيطة، لكنها تبقى ذكرى جميلة في قلوب الأطفال. عيد أضحى مبارك.

On the occasion of Eid Al-Adha, the Hellok Community Center team organized a recreational activity for children aged 9 to 13, bringing the joy of Eid into a safe and engaging space.

The activity included energizing games that encouraged cooperation, participation, and positive interaction among children, creating moments filled with laughter and joy.

أسئلة قريبة من حياة الفتيات كانت محور جلسات التوعية في مركز دوركاس المجتمعي في دير الزور، حيث شاركت الفتيات في نقاشات وأنشطة تفاعلية حول الحماية الذاتية، أهمية التعليم، والتوعية بالعنف القائم على النوع الاجتماعي.
من خلال الحوار، تعلّمت المشاركات طرقًا للتعبير عن احتياجاتهن بثقة، وفهم مشاعرهن، والتفكير بخيارات أكثر أمانًا ووعيًا في حياتهن اليومية.
كل مساحة آمنة تبدأ بسؤال يُسمع، وصوت يُحترم، وثقة تنمو خطوة بخطوة.

When can I say no? Who can I ask for help? How can I express what I feel?

These questions shaped the awareness sessions at the Dorcas Community Center in Deir ez-Zor, where girls took part in interactive discussions and activities on self-protection, the importance of education, and awareness of gender-based violence.
Through dialogue, participants explored ways to express their needs with confidence, understand their emotions, and think through safer and more informed choices in their daily lives.

Every safe space begins with a question being heard, a voice being respected, and confidence growing step by step.

Dorcas – Syria announces the opening of registration for its Vocational Training Programme for Youth Empowerment in Al-Midan, Aleppo. The programme aims to support young people in gaining practical skills that can strengthen their opportunities in the labour market and help them work towards economic independence.

Who can apply?
Registration is open to young women and men who meet the following criteria:

Age: 18 to 30 years old
Residence: Al-Midan
Full availability to attend the training
Passing an interview with the Dorcas team

How and where to register?
Registration is in person only at Dorcas Al-Midan, located on Al-Makhfar Street, opposite the Annunciation Church.

في مركز دوركاس المجتمعي في حرستا، تحوّلت جلسات التوعية إلى مساحة قريبة من واقع الفتيات، حيث اجتمعن في أنشطة تفاعلية وحوارات مفتوحة حول مواضيع تمس حياتهن اليومية.

من خلال اللعب، النقاش، والعمل ضمن مجموعات، تناولت المشاركات مواضيع مثل الحماية الذاتية، أهمية التعليم، فهم التغيرات النفسية والانفعالية خلال مرحلة المراهقة، والتواصل الصحي مع الأهل.

لم تكن الجلسات مجرد معلومات تُقدَّم، بل مساحة للاستماع، طرح الأسئلة، مشاركة التجارب، وبناء الثقة خطوة بخطوة.

كل مساحة آمنة تبدأ بإصغاء حقيقي، وكل فتاة تستحق أن تشعر أن صوتها مسموع.

At the Dorcas Community Center in Harasta, awareness sessions became a space closely connected to girls’ daily realities, bringing participants together through interactive activities and open discussions.

Through play, dialogue, and group activities, participants discussed topics such as self-protection, the importance of education, emotional and psychological changes during adolescence, and healthy communication with family members.

The sessions were not only about sharing information. They created space for listening, asking questions, sharing experiences, and building confidence step by step.

Every safe space begins with real listening, and every girl deserves to feel that her voice is heard.

في إطار تعزيز جودة الاستجابة الإنسانية وبناء قدرات الفرق الميدانية، نفذت دوركاس تدريبًا متخصصًا في دير الزور استهدف الفريقين الطبي والحماية.

تناول التدريب محاور أساسية شملت الصون، الحماية من الاستغلال والإساءة الجنسية، العناية الذاتية للعاملين في الميدان، والمساءلة وآليات الإبلاغ.

As part of efforts to strengthen the quality of humanitarian response and build the capacity of field teams, Dorcas conducted a specialized training in Deir ez-Zor targeting both the medical and protection teams.

The training covered key topics including safeguarding, Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse, self-care for field workers, accountability, and reporting mechanisms.

The training strengthened participants’ understanding of protection principles, safe response practices, and proper reporting procedures, supporting professional and ethical engagement with affected communities. It also emphasized the importance of self-care and psychosocial wellbeing for frontline workers to ensure sustainable humanitarian performance and improve service quality.

This training reflects Dorcas’ commitment to transparency, accountability, and creating a safe environment that protects the dignity of both beneficiaries and staff, while supporting clear mechanisms for reporting and addressing complaints and violations professionally and responsibly.
