From the end of June into early July 2006 our children Alex and Julia, traveled to El Salvador along with a few friends, our interpreter, Michelle Abbatto, and the teenage son of her friend. We held three clinic days in remote villages and our final day we visited an orphanage for children with HIV run by Sister Sara. In the past twenty years Andy and I have been every year (except during the Covid pandemic) with ever larger teams. The 2026 team of 29 volunteers will be headed by Dr. Tung Nguyen and his wife, Lynda an RN currently finishing her NP degree. Andy and I are both so grateful to the Nguyens for standing in for us as we travel a road to health recovery. Amongst the 29 volunteers are our most trusted long time interpreters including Dr. Josh Pongan, Dr. Brendan Spinelli, Mrs. Jessica Álvarez and Mrs. Rocio O’Hara. Dr. Mary Wilby will be joining the team for the fourth year and helping to supervise nursing. Dr. Nguyen will be the attending supervisor for 8 residents from Jefferson Northeast. Mrs. Courtney Ercole, a board member, Drexel University faculty member and longtime volunteer will be treating patients and mentoring PA students. Dr. Dan May, head of our California volunteers will be supervising a team of 11 that includes two PAs, Martin Holt and Trevor Holloway, their interpreter Julie Bock and 7 PA students from Marshall B Ketchum University. Please consider making a contribution in honor of one of our amazing volunteers! Your generosity helps us pay for the medication and medical supplies we ship to our partners in El Salvador, the Comandos de Salvamento. Our volunteers pay all their own travel expenses and donate their time and talents. Stephanie and Andy Badulak, founders
