REPC Day 8

A Farewell Filled with Gratitude, Culture, and Blessings.

Yesterday, we marked the final day of this incredible missionary journey, wrapping up a week where we saw God move in extraordinary ways.
We started the morning with a beautiful double celebration. First, we surprised Rev. Brett Eubank for his birthday with a delicious breakfast, a gift, and a wonderful birthday cake, paying and thanking God for his life and his ministry among us. Pastor Brett also spent a few minutes with Guillermito Barrientos, a child he sponsors within our G.U.I.D.E. Me program, and also gave him his food package for the month of July.

Following the celebration, our director presented each missionary with a certificate of participation, expressing our deep gratitude and recognition for their hard work, dedication, and vital support to the ministry of Sports Impact Intl.

Cultural Connection and Sending Off
To close their time in El Salvador with a local touch, the team visited our neighbor’s mill to learn a bit more about Salvadoran culture and daily life.
Before their departure, we gathered as one family to pray with them and for them, covering their journey home in prayer. The missionary team then held their final debriefing session to reflect on all that God did in their hearts this week, before heading to the airport.

"The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you..." — Numbers 6:24-25

We are left with a bittersweet feeling as we say goodbye, but we are filled with the hope and expectation of welcoming them back in two years. Thank you, Rivermont Evangelical Presbyterian Church Presbyterian Church, for being a beacon of Christ's love in El Salvador!

REPC Day 7:
A Sunday of Worship, Communion, and Community Service.
What a glorious day we experienced yesterday! We were able to witness the beauty of the body of Christ manifested both in the temple and in the communities, uniting hearts in worship and service alongside Rivermont Evangelical Presbyterian Church and .

Morning: Anniversary Celebration and Holy Communion.
The missionary team began the day with hearts full of spiritual joy as we participated in the Sunday service, celebrating the first anniversary of Church of the Nazarene in Nuevo Cuscatlán (IDN NC) being planted by SII with the support of REPC. We had the honor of hearing the Word of God through a sermon preached by Reverend Brett Eubank of REPC, translated by our very own Hilda Lemus, administrative manager and assistant to the director at SII and former volunteer and beneficiary of the English program and a university scholarship recipient of our non-profit organization.

We experienced a deeply sacred moment participating in Holy Communion, which was officiated by Rev. Nelson Valencia, Superintendent of the Western District of the Church of the Nazarene in El Salvador.
At the end of the service, we shared a delicious snack and a wonderful time of fellowship with the entire congregation and special guests.

"For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them." — Matthew 18:20

After the service, the missionaries listened to the wonderful story of Gerardo Jirón, who began in our ministry at the age of 5 when he was a kindergartener. He also received food and support from our ministry, obtained a scholarship to study at one of the most renowned private schools, from which he graduated from high school. Now, being 20, he is a 3rd-year cadet in the Air Force of El Salvador, who continues to receive our unconditional support as he prepares to become a military pilot and also graduate with a degree in Military Administration.

Afternoon: Sowing Love in Tomás Rodríguez and La Cuartería.
In the afternoon, we went to the communities of Tomás Rodríguez and La Cuartería to host a very special activity for the local children. It was a wonderful time filled with:
Recreational games and activities that brought laughter and joy.
A message and testimony of faith that challenged their hearts to seek God.
Distribution of snacks to all the kids and grocery bags to the sponsored children under the "G.U.I.D.E. Me" program.
Seeing the grateful faces of each family as they received both physical and spiritual nourishment reminds us that God's love is shown through concrete acts of compassion.

Thank you all followers for your prayers; we continue to see God's glory in El Salvador!

REPC day 6
¡Celebrating the Gift of Family in the Lord!

The joy of the Lord was our strength yesterday! The mission team from Rivermont Evangelical Presbyterian Church experienced an extraordinary morning alongside the Sports Impact International (SII) team during the celebration of our traditional Family Day.

It was a time designed by God to embrace local families and remember the perfect design He created for society. The morning was filled with smiles, dynamics, and blessings. We shared recreational activities and playful games, some included reading the bible, that brought parents and children together in laughter and healthy entertainment.

We enjoyed delicious cookies and drinks, and the excitement of raffles for parents and trainees joyfully sharing what we have received by grace from the Lord through REPC mission team.

The most important part of the day was gathering around the Word of God shared by Pastor Brett Eubank and joining our voices in prayer, interceding for Salvadoran homes so that Jesus may always be the center of their lives.

"But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." — Joshua 24:15

Seeing fathers, mothers, and children playing, laughing, and seeking God together reminds us that the Gospel transforms entire communities starting from the home. What a privilege to be God's channel to bring a message of hope and family unity to El Salvador!

In the afternoon, the team participated in chess training and also delivered bags of groceries to the children we sponsor through the "G.U.I.D.E. Me" program. We ended the day watching the Argentina vs. Switzerland match in the FIFA World Cup.

Thank you to everyone who makes this ministry possible through your prayers and support. The work of the Lord continues to bear eternal fruit!
