Luis speaks with his hands, he always has.
As a child, he learned to communicate with his mother, who couldn’t hear or speak, using signs they created together at home.

Today, those same hands shape metal sheets with patience and precision.
Between memory and work, his hands carry both the tenderness of a son and the craft of someone who’s never stopped building.

What if you could reimagine your cinema?
That’s what happened during the Club de Cine Frame Workshop led by Salvadoran artist Male Cuéllar, part of the Florecen Si Reciclas recycling awareness campaign.

Participants built a colorful frame for the projection, usually shown directly on the wall at Casa Comunal 28. Using recycled materials such as old newspaper, bottle caps and paint, they reimagined waste through collective hands and creativity.

The result? A vibrant frame for Zacamil’s Cine Club when they want to add a special touch to screenings. 🎬 Reel coming soon!

Before painting De dónde venimos, artist Henry Ramírez met with the Zacamil community to listen to their stories. People spoke of where they came from, of their connection to the countryside, and of how their lives have unfolded between challenge and resilience.

The mural rises from fruits and blooming flowers, honoring the roots of the community—its people, their stories, and the shared will to grow again, a tribute to Zacamil’s identity.

A recycling container may look like a simple object, but in Zacamil, it’s part of a much bigger story.

Let’s discover how the new containers were designed and installed as part of a Pilot Project to rethink waste and urban life.

Placed in key areas of eight buildings, the containers are the visible sign of an ongoing program of education, workshops, and design that aims to make recycling a daily habit.

A reminder that urban change often begins with the smallest gestures.

Transforming public spaces means staying close to the people who experience them every day.

The Info Point was created for this purpose, a space where residents can find information and feel part of what’s happening in Zacamil.

Florece si reciclas. ♻️

In Zacamil, the change begins with a poster. As part of a wider recycling campaign, a series of colorful and easy-to-read visuals was installed in every building to help residents correctly sort their waste. Each bin has its own character, making it easier to associate colors with the right materials and turn information into memory.

These posters are the first step in a larger effort to reshape habits in the neighborhood—one that also includes playful elements in public space.

A cleaner future starts with what we see every day!

In Zacamil, new canaletas (rainwater gutters) were installed to improve how rainwater is collected and redirected. Better drainage systems mean healthier shared spaces, fewer leaks, and more efficient water use, for the neighborhood’s well-being.

Sometimes, caring for our environment begins right above our heads.

“Art creates change. It awakens awareness; it sparks hope. The aesthetic change may be small, but the transformation within a person, when they see themselves in a work of art, that is what truly matters.” – Henry Ramírez

In De dónde venimos, Henry Ramírez weaves together memory and experience, from the rain that once turned brick into watercolor, to the wild flower that grows without being planted, a gift from life itself.

At the heart of the mural, a pomegranate opens, its seeds ready to be shared and sown, symbolizing renewal and the collective act of building hope.
