DALMAS has made significant strides in Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL) through impactful, community-driven interventions in Jur River and Wau counties.
Key achievements include the establishment of a local storage facility for agricultural produce, which has greatly reduced post-harvest losses, improved food preservation, and strengthened farmers’ ability to access markets at better prices.

In addition, DALMAS successfully promoted and applied Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), equipping farmers with modern, climate-smart farming techniques. These practices have led to improved crop yields, better soil management, efficient water use, and enhanced resilience to climate-related challenges.

The supported crop varieties include cowpeas, groundnuts, beans, maize, okra, bambara nuts, and sorghum, contributing to improved dietary diversity and household food security.
To further support farmer wellbeing, DALMAS distributed washing soaps to 150 farmers, improving hygiene during and after farming activities and promoting healthier communities.

Through these efforts, farming communities have increased productivity, strengthened food security, and improved their livelihoods, contributing to long-term sustainability and community self-reliance.
