Wurieng Payam Secretariat Kicks Off Grassroots Meetings on Membership Registration and Mobilization Ahead of Primaries and Congresses.

The SPLM Secretariat of Wurieng Payam, Rumbek North County has started meetings with people in the community to explain SPLM membership and encourage people who want to join the party to register.

The meeting which brought together Payam and Boma Secretaries and Community Mobilizers targets Payam and Boma administrators, chiefs, intellectuals, youth, women and religious leaders.

We had chances of explaining simple things such as;
•Who can become an SPLM member?
•The rights of SPLM members
•The functions and responsibilities of SPLM members
•Key messages for the SPLM 2026 general elections

These came following resolutions from the SPLM Leadership Retreat, the high-level visit of the SPLM Secretary General and guidance from the County Secretariat.

Our aim is taking information from the party's top leadership to the grassroots so that local leaders and communities understand the party's policies, membership requirements, rights and responsibilities.

Information!!

This serve to inform County SPLM secretariat, Payam secretaries, SPLM youth league, women league, Executive caucus, Parliamentary caucus and entire membership of the SPLM of Rumbek North County that there will be an official launching of registration of the SPLM members tomorrow 15/SEP 2026 at Deng Nhial primary school premise .

All Payam secretaries are here by directed to take full mobilization of their Payam SPLM membership from Payam to grassroot levels with an immediate effect.

This registration exercise is focusing only on those residing within Rumbek town and around Rumbek town respectively and subsequently the launching of registration exercise will be done in Rumbek North County immediately after this launching.

Updates!
The advance team for the high-profile visit for the SPLM Secretary General to Rumbek arrived in Rumbek this afternoon as preparations intensify for the upcoming visit.

Upon arrival, the team was received by the SPLM Lakes State Secretariat headed by Cde. Asunta Bauda James together with members.

The arrival of the advance team marks an important step toward ensuring a wall-organized and successful reception of the Cde. Dr. Akhol Paul Koordit to his home town on Saturday 12th September' 2026

The SPLM leadership at all calls upon members across the counties and within Rumbek Municipality to fully engage in the preparations.

All the SPLM county structures, Payam and Boma leaderships, Youth, women's Leagues, cadres, supporters and well-wishers are encouraged to closely coordinate with the State Secretariat and follow the official guidance regarding the programme and reception arrangements.

𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 | 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 — 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆

The SPLM Chairman chaired the SPLM leadership meeting in Juba to intensify preparations for the Party’s 3rd National Convention and the general elections scheduled for December 2026. Chaired by H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit, Chairman of the SPLM and the Party’s presidential candidate, the meeting reviewed preparations for the movement's internal democratic processes, including congresses, primaries, and the selection of candidates across all levels of governance, encompassing local councils, county commissioners, state legislative assemblies, state governors, and members of the national parliament.

During the session, the leadership officially adopted comprehensive guidelines to govern the conduct of internal party congresses and primaries. Under these guidelines, SPLM candidates will be selected through the Party’s internal democratic structures before representing the SPLM in the general elections against candidates from other political parties. SPLM Secretary General Cde. Dr. Akol Paul Kordit stated that party leaders and cadres are expected to return to their respective constituencies and organizational areas immediately to begin preparations in accordance with the newly adopted framework.

The meeting underscored the paramount importance of strengthening internal democracy within the SPLM to ensure that capable and committed cadres are selected to represent the Party and serve the people at all levels of government. Furthermore, the party leadership commended Chairman H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit for his continued guidance, wisdom, and leadership in advancing the movement's political and organizational agenda as the country moves toward the historic December 2026 elections.
