AYADA Expands Women’s Empowerment in Hard-to-Reach Areas of Wau and Jur River Counties, Western Bahr el Ghazal State, South Sudan.
The Agriculture Youth Action for Development Agency (AYADA) is proud to contribute to transforming the lives of vulnerable women in remote communities of Wau and Jur River Counties, Western Bahr el Ghazal State, through the South Sudan Women Social Economic Empowerment Project (SSWSEEP).
With support from the World Bank, and in collaboration with the Ministry of Gender, Child and Social Welfare, UN Women, and CARE International, AYADA is delivering impactful, community-driven interventions in some of the most hard-to-reach areas.
Reaching the Unreached
Despite challenges such as poor road infrastructure, seasonal flooding, and limited access to basic services, AYADA has successfully extended its services to underserved women who are often excluded from development opportunities. Through localized approaches and strong community engagement, the organization ensures that no woman is left behind.
Driving Real Impact
The project focuses on strengthening women’s economic resilience and independence through:
1. Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLA)
2. Skills development and entrepreneurship training.
3. Livelihood support initiatives
4. Social empowerment and inclusion activities.
As a result, many women are now generating income, supporting their families, and actively participating in community decision-making processes.
Building Resilient Communities
AYADA’s work goes beyond economic support—it is about restoring dignity, building confidence, and creating sustainable pathways out of poverty. Women in these communities are now better equipped to withstand economic shocks and contribute meaningfully to local development.
A Call for Partnership
AYADA remains committed to scaling up its interventions and reaching more vulnerable populations across South Sudan. We welcome partnerships with donors, development agencies, and stakeholders who share our vision of empowering women and strengthening resilient communities.
Together, we can expand opportunities, transform lives, and build a more inclusive future.
