AYADA South Sudan join the partners assessment in Rocrocdong Payam of Jur River County.
Target beneficiaries were IDPs from Manyang area and the surrounding villages, the assessment team first approached the host local authorities in Rocrocdong to introduce themselves on their activities. Local authorities then brief the partners on the present of IDPs and their condition. Payam Administrator for Rocrocdong directed the assessment partners to the school where IDPs are camping,
As Join team reached to the site of IDPs, 2 focuse group discussion were initiated where AYADA join the general protection group comprised of 15 male participants.
During the process, the assessment team had to explore the genesis of the conflict and its implications,
Pressing needs identified during the assessment.
Gaps/lacking
✓ food
✓ medicines
✓ Non food items (utensils, blankets, mosquito nets, mates and plastic sheets
✓ redundancy remain high among the children of IDPs
✓ sheltering.
The number of IDPs reported by Marko Ayaga, RRC for Achonchong and a member of the displaced person is said to be 1000 individuals though the actual figures weren't riming up with the said number.
Action point:
1- The host RRC for Rocrocdong Payam Mr. Tong Aleu Dut to provide the actual disaggregated list of IDPs and share it with protection partners.
