A Heartbreaking Case of Child Abuse in yambio State

A father has been arrested by Local Government Area of yambio State after he allegedly used a hot pressing iron to burn the private part of his 10-year-old daughter as punishment for bedwetting.

According to the State Police Command, the incident was reported to the police, leading to the arrest of the suspect, identified as Amos Paul living in Baiparu Area yambio The little girl was immediately taken to the state hospital yambio town where she is currently receiving medical treatment.

The police have confirmed that the case will be handled by the Gender Unit for a full investigation to ensure justice is served.

Reacting to the incident, the Commissioner of Police strongly condemned the act, describing it as cruel, inhumane, and completely unacceptable. He also encouraged parents and members of the public to report any form of child abuse or domestic violence to the nearest police station

No child deserves to suffer such painful abuse. Bedwetting is a common childhood challenge that requires love, patience, guidance, and, when necessary, medical attention—not violence.
