From the corporate world to healthcare systems, the transformation driven by Artificial Intelligence is no longer a projection of the future, it is already shaping our present.
On behalf of SudILE Organization, I was privileged to attend the GITEX Future Health Africa Morocco 🇲🇦 2025 in Casablanca.
The three-day event brought together remarkable innovators, researchers, entrepreneurs, and technology leaders who showcased how Artificial Intelligence, IoT integration, and data-driven systems are redefining efficiency and innovation across industries—particularly in healthcare.
One innovation that stood out to me was OphtAI, an AI-powered solution capable of analyzing retina fundus images within seconds to detect early signs of diabetic-related eye conditions.
The speed and precision of the system demonstrated how AI can support early diagnosis and improve healthcare accessibility.
Although my background is not in medicine, I remain deeply interested in understanding the extent to which AI is transforming societies, institutions, and the future of work across Africa and beyond.
My greatest takeaway from this experience is that Africa is steadily advancing toward a more digital and innovation-driven future, as reflected in some African countries.
Strategic investment in Artificial Intelligence has the potential to strengthen healthcare systems, improve service delivery, and create sustainable solutions for emerging challenges across the continent.
