AYAD South Sudan joined humanitarian partners and government counterparts in a just concluded assessment to establish the extent of crop damage resulting from a prolonged dry spell in some parts of Northern Bahr El Gazel State. The observation is alarming and poses a severe threat to both human lives and livestock.
Crops have suffered devastating impacts, and the repercussions for already vulnerable communities will intensify as livestock run out of pasture and water during the upcoming dry season.
A similar situation is being reported in other states such as Lakes State, and areas in Eastern Equatoria such as Lopit/Lafon County.
