Assistance Mission for Africa (AMA), in partnership with Legal Action Worldwide (LAW), implemented the Truth & Justice for Survivors project under the theme “Healing begins when we stand together.” During a recent visit to Ganyliel Primary School and Ganyliel Secondary School in Ganyliel, Panyijiar County, Unity State, the AMA team engaged school leadership and stakeholders to share the project scope and foster meaningful dialogue around challenges affecting the community.

The engagement created space to listen to lived experiences, understand the realities faced by survivors, and collaboratively explore practical and compassionate ways to support them. Through this interaction, key insights were gathered to help strengthen community-based responses and ensure support efforts are grounded in real needs.

Assistance Mission for Africa (AMA), in partnership with Legal Action Worldwide (LAW), continues to implement the Truth & Justice for Survivors project under the theme “Healing begins when we stand together.” During recent visits to Naath Primary School and Emma Secondary School in Rubkona, Unity State, the AMA team engaged school leadership and stakeholders to share the project scope and open dialogue on the realities faced within their communities.

The discussions created space to listen to lived experiences, understand the challenges survivors have gone through, and collectively explore practical solutions on how best to support them. At Emma Secondary School, students presented a powerful drama piece portraying scenes of conflict—men engaged in war while women and families are left displaced, frightened, and vulnerable—before transitioning into dialogue and reconciliation. The performance served as a moving reflection of the community’s experiences and the urgent need for peace, healing, and justice.

By centering community voices and lived realities, AMA and LAW remain committed to ensuring responses are compassionate, inclusive, and grounded in the real needs of survivors.

AMA, in partnership with HELP, recently conducted stakeholder engagement meetings and youth leadership and negotiation sessions across several schools, including Panekar Senior Secondary School, Matt Academy, Kon Anok, and Nyang Boys and Girls.

The sessions were warmly received by community members, school administrations, and Protection Clubs, highlighting a strong need for continued engagement in child protection and youth empowerment. Many schools expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting the limited presence of partners addressing these critical issues.

Community members encouraged AMA and HELP to deepen collaboration with schools and local leaders to challenge harmful social norms, strengthen child protection systems, and promote policies that uphold children’s rights. Youth participants were actively engaged in leadership discussions and peacebuilding efforts, reinforcing their vital role in driving positive change within their communities.

EMPOWERED TO RISE 🌱

In Payinjiar County, Martha Nyatot Biel—fondly known as Queen Martha—stands as a testament to resilience and transformation.

For years, like many women in her community, Martha faced the daily struggle of providing for her family amid challenging conditions. But through the support of the Assistance Mission for Africa (AMA) under the RSRTF project, her story began to change. By joining a women’s group and participating in VSLA activities, she gained not only financial stability but also the confidence and skills to build a better future.

Today, Martha has invested in her garden, grown her small business, and is able to support her household independently. Beyond that, she has become a voice of encouragement in her community—sharing knowledge, promoting peace, and uplifting others along the way.

Her journey reflects the true impact of empowering women at the grassroots level—where change begins with one individual and spreads across entire communities.

“Now I am capable, strong, and joyful.”

Martha’s words are more than a statement—they are a reflection of what is possible when opportunity meets determination.

🌿 Easter Monday

The story continues.

Easter is not just a day—it is a reminder that hope lives on, faith endures, and love continues to guide us forward.

As we move into this new week, may we carry the message of resurrection into our daily lives—serving others, uplifting communities, and walking in purpose.

Together, we continue to stand in the gap for those who need it most.

🌅 Happy Easter

He is risen!

Today we celebrate the victory of life over death, hope over despair, and light over darkness.
The resurrection of Jesus Christ is a powerful reminder that new beginnings are always possible.

May this Easter fill your hearts with joy, your homes with peace, and your lives with renewed hope.

🕊️ Holy Saturday

A day of silence. A day of waiting. A day of hope.

Today reminds us that even in stillness, God is working.
In moments of uncertainty, we are called to remain patient, faithful, and anchored in His promises.

As we await the joy of resurrection, may we find peace in knowing that light always follows darkness.
