Throwback with Purpose | Readers MeetUp
We didnโt just end the year with โMerry Christmasโ and โHappy New Yearโ posts. We ended it our way โ with books, readers, and impact.
In the first week of December 2025, EduPower Youth Foundation proudly participated in the Readers MeetUp organized by Read to Impact, in collaboration with Eastech College of Applied Sciences and other partners. This gathering was more than an event; it was a celebration of reading, curiosity, and the quiet power of books.
During the MeetUp, we donated 14 books to passionate readers, some of whom were engaging with a book for pleasure for the very first time. For us, this wasnโt just participation โ it was a reaffirmation of our commitment to accelerating literacy and nurturing a reading culture in South Sudan, where access to books remains a privilege for many.
As we reflect on that moment, weโre excited to share whatโs next.
This year, we are preparing to bring another 20,000 books to South Sudan through our partner, Books For Africa, alongside 3,000 solar lights generously donated by SolarBuddy. These resources are ready โ and they have the power to light up classrooms, libraries, and homes across the country.
Thanks to the incredible support of Mr. Charles Cogan and several Rotary Clubs in the United States, we have already raised $6,000. We now need $6,000 more to ship these books and lights to South Sudan this year.
