On Thursday, the South Sudan NGO Forum bid farewell to 46 interns who have been deployed to national and international NGOs across South Sudan. The interns, who successfully completed a four-month internship, were placed in various departments and organizations through an internship program funded by the Swiss Development & Cooperation (SDC).

The NGO Forum internship program targets fresh college and university graduates, providing them with hands-on professional experience.

Throughout the internship period, the interns developed practical workplace skills, enhanced their professional competencies, and expanded their networking opportunities, preparing them for future career paths in the humanitarian and development sectors.

Meet Alek Majok Loch Ajok, a 25-year-old South Sudanese and an early-career professional with a strong interest in humanitarian and development work. She is an intern with the South Sudan NGO Forum through the Swiss Development & Cooperation Internship Program.

Alek is currently in the last month of her four-month Procurement Internship with Cordaid. She works closely with the procurement, logistics, and warehouse teams. This experience allows her to learn by doing and to apply what she studied in real humanitarian work. These include preparing Procurement Requests (PRs), organizing and filing documents, and supporting warehouse verification of supplies.

She has also taken part in coordination meetings, which helped her understand donor requirements, accountability, and teamwork between organizations.

The South Sudan NGO Forum remains committed to supporting youth through skills development and meaningful opportunities that help shape future leaders.
