YGlobal South Sudan Mission: Together Building Global Justice and Peace One of the tools used in promoting gender equality is through Transformative masculinity.

KFUK-KFUM GLOBAL (YGLOBAL) is an international organization that strives to empower young people around the world to take an active role in creating a just and sustainable world. The organization is a part of the World Alliance of YMCAs and the World YWCA, and has been working in communities across the globe since 1855.YGlobal South Sudan registered and opened a country office in South Sudan in 20

21 with Relief and Rehabilitation Commission N0.4,139 after having worked through several local partners for the last two decades in South Sudan. Mission

Together Building Global Justice and Peace

Programs

YGlobal offers a range of programs and initiatives designed to empower youth women and persons with disabilities in South Sudan under the following thematic areas:

1. Community Well- Being

Psychosocial Support: Community-Based Psychosocial Support (CBPS) and Child Art Therapy (CAT) are Psychosocial Support Counselling approaches which integrates psychosocial aspects into intervention responses following an emergency. CBPS & CAT enables trained counsellors and community workers to develop holistic rehabilitation and re-integration plans for the target groups. Safe Space: Given the sensitivity of the issues affecting PWDs, youth, and women, YGlobal work towards creating safe spaces for these groups. Key element in safe space is to create an environment for participants to feel safe enough to freely express themselves regardless of their ethnicity, religion, gender expression & identity, and physical capacity. YGlobal uses the power of safe space to dismantle deep rooted discrimination and inequality through young women’s leadership, access to Sexual Health Reproductive Rights development, Gender equality. Transformative masculinity is a tool for challenging dominant traditional gender norms of what it means to be a man/boy. These dominant norms of how a man/boy should be is harmful to men (cases of su***de) and to women (male/society perpetuated violence/oppression).

2. Meaningful work

Economic Empowerment: This component provides youth, women, and persons with disabilities with alternative means of livelihoods. This will involve mobilization into peacemaker saving and investment groups (PM-SIGs). Members in PM-SIGs receive trainings on financial literacy and entrepreneurship

and business development. The PM-SIGs are facilitated to run saving and investment schemes. Start-up kits are provided to PM-SIGs with market feasible ideas. Decent work: This allows the youth, women, not only to acquire skills in creating and finding employment but also educates and promotes decent work that has meaningful gain to the project participants. And promoting the rights of workers, prevention on sexual harassment & abuse at places of work.

3. Just World

Inclusion: People with disabilities (PWDs) continue to be excluded from vital services such as health care and education, livelihood activities, and programs that address gender-based violence. YGlobal adopts a holistic and inclusive approach to implement a combination of activities that not only target on empowering PWDs but also link local Organizations of Persons with Disabilities and Civil Society Organizations working on inclusion with the national initiatives to promote the rights of PWDs. Peacemaker Groups: The Peacemaker Groups target youth between the ages of 13 to 30 years with the aim of empowering young people who often feel subjected to suppressive structures. Through Peacemaker Groups, youth acquire skills, knowledge, and tools to become right-holders and engage duty-bearers to change systems at different levels of society. This is done through training, campaigns, meetings, radio shows and community outreaches. The Peacemaker Groups are important stakeholders for the advocacy component. Advocacy and Peacebuilding: Youth from peacemaker groups activities are trained on human rights, conflict mitigation and resolution, Transformative Masculinity, and awareness raising. By doing so, the youth can create campaigns and outreaches in the settlements and in the host communities. Impact - Over the years, YGlobal has had a significant impact on communities in South Sudan. Through its programs and initiatives, the organization has helped to:

- Empower youth and women to become leaders in their communities

- Promote mental health and well-being

- Increase access to economic opportunities

- Advocate for policies that promote social justice and human rights

- Capacity building for Organizations of persons with disabilities and Civil Society Organizations.

For the past years, Norec funding has reached across borders, opening doors for young people globally, and many from South Sudan have stepped through those doors with purpose.

Through its partnership with YGlobal, these opportunities have translated into real growth. Exchange programs, hands-on experience, leadership exposure, and skills that don’t just sit on paper; they show up in communities.

Young people are not just participants in this story. They are the drivers. They return sharper, more aware, and ready to build, challenge, and lead.

And Juwa stands as a living example of this journey. Proof that when a young person is given space, support, and trust, they don’t just grow, they rise and carry others with them.

From local spaces to global platforms, the ripple effect is clear. Invest in youth, and the future stops being a question. It becomes a direction.

Hearing loss shouldn’t stop children from learning and thriving.

Teachers 🧑‍🏫, you can:
- Seat the child at the front so they can see and hear you clearly
- Use good lighting and face the child when speaking
- Encourage children with hearing aids or implants to use them consistently
- Support peers in helping children express their needs confidently
- Create supportive classroom environments

At our core, we believe wellbeing matters.

In a noisy world, silence can be a powerful form of care.
Taking a step back protects mental health, reduces stress, and creates space to heal.

As a community, let’s respect boundaries, promote balance, and make room for quiet moments.

Because sometimes, choosing silence is choosing well-being.

📣 Women of all ages are holding up health systems in their families and communities, even while their own health is constantly impacted by conflict, displacement, and shrinking access to care.

🌿 This World Health Day, we honour intergenerational women—nurses, caregivers, community mobilisers, peer educators, and activists—who show up first in times of crisis and are so often the last to receive care themselves.

🌏 From Palestine to South Sudan, Ukraine, Myanmar and beyond, women and young women are living through trauma and insecurity, facing attacks on their mental, sexual, and reproductive health, while still leading peace-building, care, and healing in their communities. Their leadership and resilience are at the heart of transforming systems of violence into systems rooted in care and justice.

We invite you to take time today to listen to and uplift their stories and rewatch these powerful conversations:
