Alleviate Africa Feat Africa is a non-profit organization that was founded in South Sudan in 2013 as Hope for African Transformational Services (HATS).

Alleviate is a purpose-driven non-profit organization dedicated to elevating deprived people across Africa through improving access to safe water, quality health, economic empowerment and discipleship. Currently, we operate in South Sudan, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. FEAT AFRICA exists to provide spiritual and physical services to people affected by poverty, disease and famine, by

improving Health (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene), Livelihood (Food, gastronomic fuel, habitation) and Education (Discipleship, health and Tuition) of the unreached, and vulnerable communities.

For years, Oyet and his family struggled to access safe drinking water. That season was marked by illnesses like typhoid that were brought on by drinking contaminated water.

The installation of a biosand filter changed everything. Now his family has clean water whenever they need it, and sickness is no longer a constant presence in their home.

Today the family is happy, healthy and children are nolonger missing school due to sickness.

Meet Mathew Loguya, Founder and CEO of Alleviate Africa.
Growing up in war-affected South Sudan, Mathew experienced firsthand the struggle for clean water and access to healthcare. Those experiences became the foundation of his humanitarian calling.
Today, through Alleviate Africa, he is helping vulnerable communities access clean water, quality healthcare, and economic opportunities across South Sudan and beyond.
This World Humanitarian Day, we celebrate Mathew and every humanitarian choosing to show up, serve, and bring hope where it is needed most.

Climate change is making water harder to find.

In South Sudan, longer droughts, unpredictable rainfall, and rising temperatures are putting pressure on already limited water sources. Families travel farther for water, crops struggle, and children bear the greatest burden.

At Alleviate Africa, we’re bringing safe, clean water closer to communities not just as a development solution, but as a tool for climate resilience.

Every borehole and protected water source helps communities stay healthy, protect livelihoods, keep children in school, and adapt to a changing climate.

Every big goal you have: a new career, a stronger family, a business you want to build, a dream you want to chase all depends on the quality of your health.

We often treat health as something separate from success, a personal matter we'll "get around to" once the bigger goals are handled. But it's the other way around. Health what determines the course of your entire life.

You are capable of getting quality healthcare but someone in Koboko district has to walk miles just to find the nearest healthcare center which is also having a probability of having medicines or health workers.

Alleviate medical center brings 24 hours medical services to the people of Koboko district.

Africa is dominated by a young population, yet many still stand a chance of remaining in poverty due to a lack of opportunity.

Through our Livelihood and Skills Development Program, we are training youth across South Sudan, Ituri (DRC), and West Nile in tailoring, mechanics, carpentry, agriculture, and hairdressing - marketable skills that open doors to income and independence.

Through our WASH program, we rehabilitate broken hand pumps so families don't have to go back to the swamp or the stream again.

When we talk about breastfeeding, we often focus on the mother and the baby: the quiet moments of connection, the nourishment passed from one life to another, and the incredible protection that comes through a mother’s milk.

But what we often forget that for a successful breastfeeding journey a mother also needs support.

She needs access to quality healthcare before and after delivery. She needs skilled health workers who can answer questions, provide guidance, and walk with her through the challenges that come with caring for a newborn.

At Alleviate medical center we follow a mother's journey from delivery until we are confident she is safe and the baby.

Ours shouldn't.

Through our postnatal care our skilled health workers walk besides new mothers providing them with care and encouragement to continue breastfeeding and have the right foods rich in nutrients they need to keep their baby healthy.

For every birth carried out in our Koboko medical center we celebrate but also tell the story of what happens after a mother leaves the maternity ward.

Exclusive breastfeeding is one of the greatest gifts a mother can give her child.

For the first six months of life, breast milk provides everything a baby needs to grow and thrive. It is a baby's first vaccine, strengthens the immune system, protects against disease, and lays the foundation for a healthy future.

Through our Maternal and Child Care Program, we provide antenatal and postnatal care that equips mothers with practical knowledge on exclusive breastfeeding, maternal nutrition, and healthy infant feeding practices.

By empowering mothers with the right information and support, we are helping families raise healthier children while building stronger, more resilient communities.

Knowledge saves lives.

Yesterday, we launched the Integrated Community Health Outreach Project in Ombachi Village, Koboko District, bringing essential health services and life-saving health information closer to underserved communities.

During the outreach, our team educated community members on healthy living, conducted free hypertension screenings, and addressed common myths and misconceptions surrounding high blood pressure. By identifying health conditions early and equipping families with practical knowledge, we are helping communities take charge of their health before illnesses become life-threatening.

This outreach marks the beginning of our quarterly Integrated Community Health Outreaches, an initiative designed to improve access to quality healthcare for hard-to-reach communities. Through these outreaches, we will provide preventive and promotive healthcare, screenings for non-communicable diseases, maternal and child health services, health education, referrals, and community-based support while strengthening links between households and health facilities.

We believe that healthcare should not depend on how close someone lives to a hospital. By bringing services directly to communities, we are helping families prevent disease, seek treatment earlier, and build healthier futures.
