In collaboration with UNMISS, SSWEN organized a two-day workshop focused on Women’s Leadership in the Constitution Making Process in South Sudan. Key outcomes included consensus among participants on critical issues requiring constitutional attention, such as gender-based violence (GBV) and inheritance rights. Discussions also underscored the need for women to move beyond celebrating the 35% governance quota secured through the peace agreement and instead mobilize collective efforts to ensure this representation meaningfully addresses the priorities of South Sudanese women. Participants emphasized the importance of translating this milestone into tangible advocacy for equitable policies and inclusive governance.

SSWEN Participates in Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA) Peace Exchange Roundtable in Oslo, Norway!
SSWEN, represented by Executive Director Mrs. Adut Christina Salva, recently took part in the NPA Peace Exchange Roundtable in Oslo, Norway. This gathering builds on the insights from the 2023 report, “NPA Contributions to Peace,” which outlined past experiences and proposed strategies for enhancing NPA’s role in peacebuilding.
The roundtable aimed to create a space for reflection and mutual learning across diverse contexts, highlighting shared challenges and opportunities. It also sought to formalize NPA’s approach to peace, fostering a more coordinated and impactful contribution to global peace efforts.
