Happy Day of Peace in South Sudan! 🇸🇸🕊️

September 21st, 2026 (Juba)- In South Sudan, we are still struggling to achieve the durable peace and stability that our people deserve. While other countries are competing in global airspace, artificial intelligence, and advanced technology to strengthen their productivity and build their future, we continue to carry the heavy burden of conflict and instability.

But peace cannot remain only a dream. Peace is our collective responsibility. It belongs to every one of us—regardless of where you are right now in South Sudan, or wherever you may be around the world.

Let us choose dialogue over division, unity over hatred, and hope over despair. Let us remember that our children deserve to grow up knowing peace, not fear; opportunity, not uncertainty; and hope, not conflict.

The future of South Sudan is in our hands. May we have the courage to build the peace we have waited for, and the wisdom to protect it when we find it.

Civic Education is Continuous! 🇸🇸

September 18th, 2026 (Juba)- On 15th September 2026, the CSOs Alliance on Electoral Processes in South Sudan, with support from the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) and financial support from the European Union (EU) in South Sudan, successfully facilitated a one-day civic education workshop in Kuda.

The workshop brought community members together to learn more about their civic rights and responsibilities, as well as the electoral process in South Sudan.

Beyond sharing knowledge, the workshop created a valuable space for dialogue, reflection, and community engagement, allowing participants to discuss practical ways of ensuring that citizens are informed, engaged, and able to participate peacefully and effectively in the democratic process.

Civic education remains an essential part of building informed and active communities. An informed citizenry is a foundation for meaningful civic participation.

Through the support from FES with funding from the EU in South Sudan, We were able to conduct a two-day validation workshop on 4-5 September 2026 for the CSOs Alliance on the Electoral Processes in South Sudan. This workshop aimed at the validation and further refinement of four guiding frameworks namely, Strategic Work Plan, Teaming Agreement, Code of Conduct and Communication Strategy. These guiding frameworks will serve as guiding principles for the activities of the Alliance.
Successful validation is a significant step towards building a strong institutional foundation for the Alliance so that member organizations can engage in a united manner guided by a common vision, principles, and strategic plan for the promotion of inclusive, peaceful, credible, and participatory electoral processes in South Sudan.
