JUST IN: Nigerian Court Sentences Former Power Minister Saleh Mamman to 75 Years in Prison Over $21 Million Theft

Nigerian court has sentenced former Power Minister Saleh Mamman to 75 years in prison for stealing about $21 million in public funds during his time in office.

Saleh Mamman, who served under former President Muhammadu Buhari, was found guilty of financial irregularities by Nigeria’s anti-corruption agency, the EFCC.

The former minister, however, reportedly fled the country immediately after being relieved of his duties and has since not returned to Nigeria.

The court also ordered the seizure of his foreign assets and bank accounts. The judge further directed security agencies and Interpol to help arrest him, saying the sentence will begin once he is taken into custody.

‼️JUSTIN: Petroleum Minister in Detention Claims CDF Is Driving His Seized Bullet Proof Vehicle.

The suspended Petroleum Minister, Puot Kang Chol, has testified before the court that his private bulletproof vehicle was seized by the Chief of Defence Forces, Paul Nang Majok, after his house was raided following his detention.

Giving testimony in the 74th hearing session, Mr. Puot revealed that last September, operatives of the National Security Service stormed his house and took ten vehicles with him. According to him, one of the vehicles seized was a bulletproof vehicle, which had been stolen by the Commander of the country’s army forces.

“This car, Your Lordship, belongs to me personally. Even if I am sentenced to death, it is still my family’s car.” He told the court.

Puot was not pleased with such a move, describing it as cattle raiding culture, where when you win a war against your enemies, you raid their cows. That is how the CDF can steal my Private Vehicle, he added.
