Listen to the powerful, spoken-word performance of Carmela Santion, one of our brilliant young awardees (recognized as Best Poet 🏆) at the recent Arts & Culture for Democracy Event in Wau!

Through her poetry, Carmela reminds us that leadership and democratic participation aren't things we wait for they belong to the youth, and they belong to us right now. When young people raise their voices, they shape the destiny of our nation.

This initiative was successfully organized under the "Women Lead Now" project by the Center for Strengthening Community Voices-CSCOV South Sudan

Celebrating Talent, Inclusion, and Leadership!

Today, we are incredibly proud to spotlight Jubai Baptist , a phenomenal representative of persons with disabilities, who was recently honored 🏆 by Center for Strengthening Community Voices-CSCOV South Sudan

Jubai was awarded for her powerful, original music championing women’s rights to equal participation at all levels of society. last week during the Arts and Culture Event for Democracy, she took the stage and absolutely blew the audience away with her immense talent, passion, and creativity. 🎤🎶

True democracy means ensuring every voice is heard. Jubai is living proof that leadership and advocacy come in many beautiful forms.

We are incredibly honored to share this video of the representative from Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) Mr. Alimure Ali recognizing the outstanding implementation of our 4-month project: "Strengthening Young Women’s Participation in Political Processes and Politics."

This recognition is a testament to the hard work, resilience, and passion of everyone involved. Over the last four months, CSCOV has been dedicated to breaking barriers and creating spaces where young women can lead, influence, and drive real political change.

Through this initiative, CSCOV successfully equipped and empowered young women and Young Men to take their rightful place in political processess and decision-making bodies. We are deeply grateful to FES and EU in South Sudan for their steadfast support and collaboration in making this project a resounding success.

The Youth-Led Arts and Culture Event for Democracy is over, but the impact remains.

Shoutout to Abu Taleb Abdullrahaman, awarded Best Poet at the Youth-Led Arts & Culture for Democracy Event! His moving piece on women's rights to political participation brought our theme to life: “My Voice, My Vote, My Power: The Future is Now.”
Our young people's voices will continue to influence policies and shape tomorrow.
