Let's remind ourselves about some of the things we need to know about environment:
1. Biodiversity
The variety of all living things—plants, animals, fungi, and microorganisms—found in a particular area or on Earth as a whole. High biodiversity means a healthier and more resilient environment.
2. Conservation
The careful management and protection of natural resources (forests, water, wildlife) to prevent depletion or destruction.
3. Sustainable Development
Development that meets the needs of the present without harming the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
4. Pollution
The introduction of harmful substances (chemicals, smoke, waste) into the environment, causing negative effects on air, water, or land.
5. Ecosystem
A community of living organisms interacting with each other and with their physical environment (soil, air, water).
6. Reforestation
The process of planting trees in areas where forests have been cut down or destroyed.
7. Climate Change
Long-term changes in temperature and weather patterns, mainly caused by human activities such as burning fossil fuels and deforestation.
8. Renewable Energy
Energy that comes from natural sources that can be replenished, such as solar, wind, and hydropower.
Unlike fossil fuels, these sources do not run out quickly or cause heavy pollution.
9. Waste Management
The proper handling, recycling, disposal, and treatment of waste materials to reduce environmental harm.
10. Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)
A study carried out before a project begins to understand its potential effects on the environment and propose measures to reduce harm.
