What President Salva Kiir’s Bad Leadership Taught Us

Since the country's independence in 2011, Kiir’s tenure has been marred by civil war, economic crisis, and rampant corruption.

While the turmoil has had a devastating impact on the South Sudanese populace, it offers valuable lessons on the implications of leadership styles and practices that neglect democratic principles and accountability.

One prominent lesson from Kiir's leadership is the importance of inclusivity in governance. Kiir's initial approach to leadership relied heavily on ethnic loyalty and favoritism, which exacerbated tensions among different groups within the nation.
The result in civil strife, which erupted in 2013, showcased how exclusionary policies could ignite conflict among communities that should ideally coexist in harmony.

This underscores the necessity for political leaders to embrace inclusivity and foster unity among diverse populations to build a stable and peaceful society.

Secondly, the administration's handling of corruption highlights the critical gaps in president Kiir leadership to effect transparency and accountability in governance. Allegations of embezzlement and mismanagement of state funds have pervaded Kiir's government, undermining public trust and crippling essential services.

The lesson here is clear: leaders must prioritize ethical governance and implement mechanisms that promote transparency. Without checks and balances, a vacuum of accountability flourishes, leading to the degradation of institutions and further alienation of the citizenry.

Moreover, Kiir's governance style illustrates the perils of autocratic leadership. His refusal to engage in dialogue with opposition parties, civil society groups, favouring friends & relatives (Hoarding 75 corrupt officials), pardoning real enemies and executing the weak has resulted in an environment where dissent is stifled and critical voices are marginalized.

This authoritarian approach has not only led to a lack of trust in the government but has also stunted the country’s development. It teaches us that leaders must be willing to embrace democratic principles, engage in dialogue, and cultivate a culture of open communication to ensure the constructive participation of all citizens in nation-building.

Lastly, Kiir's failure to manage the economy effectively reveals the significant role that sound economic governance plays in national stability. The economic downturn exacerbated by conflicts and mismanagement has left the majority of South Sudanese in poverty.

It serves as a sobering reminder that effective economic policies and good governance are inseparable; neglecting either can have catastrophic consequences for a nation's overall well-being

Therefore, the leadership of President Salva Kiir provides critical insights into the attributes necessary for effective governance. The lessons of inclusivity, accountability, democratic engagement, and sound economic management are not merely relevant for South Sudan but resonate universally across nations.
Hence ,remind us that the quality of leadership significantly influences a country’s trajectory and that poor governance can have lasting repercussions, not only for the present generation but for future ones as well.

How Communities Are Destroyed ; South Sudan in bracket

For one to destroy a community, here are some ways to do it successfully.

1》The first step towards destroying a community is to do capacity mapping.
Map out those who are competent, those who are rich, educated etc.
On the same note, identify idiots and weak ones of those very community. Those who have no independent judgement of things and lack analysis.
😭
2》The second step is to design a feasble strategy that will destroy all the competent ones. On of the ways to do that is to empower the idiots and functional illiterates and use them against the competent ones. For an idiot to appear relevant in the face of his Godfather, he must intensify fights against his people. He can go as low as recording them, back bite them, gossip them, propagate and demonized them to appear bad in the eyes of their own people. By doing this, the godfather will open all doors for him. You will find them bragging how they meet and dine with certain elite in the country.
😭😭
3》Idiots can be empower economically. This is because they will have the means to pool people towards them. Nobody would want to have problems with rich guys. You will be inclined to listen to them, agree to what they wanted because you need them in all life endeavours. They are powerful enough to take you to all the lucrative institution of the country. They are also the means to reach the godfather. Empowered idiots have the means to sponsor meetings to disown what is not at their interest. They can kill a brother to please an outsider.
😭😭😭
4》The most dangerous part is empowering the idiots and functional illitrates politically. How far can an idiot go in life? How many political ladders can a functional illitrates take? They are empowered to stagnate politically and kill the potentials of a generation. The whole generation doesn't take an inch of progress. Any attempt to remove them will require a revolution. Tears in my eyes my brothers. On the same note, no competent can see opportunities. They don't know where the national cake is, neither do they know that it even exist. They are only aware of economic crisis.
😭😭😭😭
5》Another strategy is to use this idiots and functional illiterates to frustrates the competent ones of that very community. Frustrated individuals will decide for themselves what tod do- Others will join opposition parties, others will create Facebook accounts to air out their views and be call barking dogs, others will look for another godfather as a ladder, some will act as temporary comedians or artists, others will be contemplating, some will go back to the villages for agriculture and marry as many wives as they want and others will go silent for good. Whichever decision, your political ambition will be gone and the idiots will have the platform to dine at the table of elites but no impact
😭😭😭😭😭
6》The last of today is to promise some of these competent ones that opportunities will come. You will get jobs soon. While waiting for the job, you will have to help this idiots in their fights against your fellow potential individuals. When you go mute, they will report to the headquarters that you have rebel or you have been bought. They will create any propaganda that will make the godfather convinced. When you seek allegiance somewhere, they will do whatever it takes to stamped and block your progress.
😭😭😭😭😭😭

What is the way forward?

In all honesty, there is no way forward.
But there are options. One option is to hibernate and wait for the right time and the right person that will agree to push you forward unconditionally.

Second option is to look for srvival mechanism and forget leadership or trying to create impact in your communities. Just follow those idiots, but don't allow them to use you beyond the point of revitalization or rejuvenation.

Finally, God will find a way for his children. There is no empire that lasts. I trust in God that he will comfort and protect his children.Continue to persevere but don't allow yourself to be used against each other to survive.

Long live our tolerance!!!
