Strengthening Local Humanitarian Leadership

Today, our Executive Director, Dr. Atem Abraham Thon who is at the same time Secretary General of the the Local Response Pooled Fund – South Sudan (LRPF-SS) engaged in a fruitful donor meeting with the Humanitarian Coordinator at the UNDP Country Office. We showcased the powerful impact of locally-led humanitarian efforts, with over 20 local organizations delivering lifesaving services and reaching thousands in some of South Sudan’s most vulnerable and underserved communities.

We reaffirmed our commitment to transparency, accountability, and community-driven solutions. As we look ahead, we are actively seeking like-minded partners and supporters who believe in empowering local actors to lead the response. Together, we can build a stronger, more inclusive humanitarian system. 🌍🀝
