Strengthening Leadership. Building Stronger CSO's.

Strong organizations begin with strong governance and inclusive leadership.

ADRA South Sudan is conducting a two-day training for CSO Board Members on Governance and Compliance at the ADRA South Sudan office in Juba. The training brings together representatives from civil society organizations, including organizations of persons with disabilities, to strengthen their understanding of good governance, accountability, compliance, leadership and effective board responsibilities.

Through practical discussions and shared learning, participants are gaining knowledge and tools to promote transparent, accountable, inclusive and sustainable organizations that better serve their communities.

The training is conducted by ADRA South Sudan with support from the Government of Norway, contributing to stronger and more inclusive civil society organizations in South Sudan.

Stronger Boards. Inclusive Leadership. Stronger Organizations. Stronger Communities.

FROM CROCHET SKILLS TO NEW OPPORTUNITIES

In Maiwut County, Upper Nile State, girls are turning creativity into skills and skills into possibilities for a better future.

At the Women and Girls Friendly Centre, constructed by ADRA South Sudan, girls are currently receiving vocational skills training in crocheting under the ACCESS Project.

Through the training, they are learning to create different handmade crochet products, other items they can potentially sell to generate income.

For the girls, the training is more than learning how to crochet. It is about building confidence, gaining practical skills, and creating hope for future income-generating opportunities.

They shared that life was more difficult before they acquired these skills. Now, they are learning, creating, and looking ahead to opportunities where their skills can help them become more self-reliant.

๐Ÿงถ Every stitch is a skill.
๐Ÿ’ก Every product is an opportunity.
๐ŸŒฑ Every girl deserves the opportunity to build a brighter future.

Through the ACCESS Project, ADRA South Sudan is supporting girls with practical vocational skills that can contribute to stronger livelihoods, confidence, and resilience.

In Chuiebet County Lakes State, farming is becoming a pathway to income, hope and resilience.

With support from the Reconciliation Stabilization Resilience Trust Fund (RSRTF) under the Kong-Koc Project, ADRA South Sudan is working with farmer producer groups to strengthen livelihoods and connect farmers to markets.

Football for Change, Standing Together Against Gender-Based Violence

ADRA South Sudan, through the South Sudan Womenโ€™s Social and Economic Empowerment Project (SSWSEEP), organized community awareness football tournaments across Kator, Munuki, Rajaf, and Luri Payams, bringing together 8 male and female teams to champion the fight against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in collaboration with the Ministry of Gender, Child and Social Welfare (MGCSW).

Sport has the power to unite communities, inspire dialogue, and drive positive change. Through these tournaments, young people were empowered to become advocates for safe, respectful, and violence-free communities while increasing awareness of the National GBV Toll-Free Helpline (445).

Together, we can break the silence, encourage timely reporting of GBV, and strengthen the efforts of the Ministry of Gender, Child and Social Welfare (MGCSW) to ensure survivors can access the support and services they need.

Every family deserves the opportunity to recover with dignity!!!!.

With generous funding from DANIDA Under ACCESS Project, ADRA ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ธ provided Multipurpose Cash Assistance (MPCA) to 495 vulnerable households across the six payams of Maiwut, Pagak, Kigile, Jekow, Uleng, and Jotome in Maiwut County, Upper Nile State. The support reached 344 female-headed households and 151 male-headed households, helping some of the most vulnerable families meet their immediate needs while rebuilding their lives.

The cash assistance has enabled families to purchase food, access healthcare, pay school-related expenses, and cover other essential household needs. many will invest in small businesses and other livelihood activities that strengthen resilience and promote long-term self-reliance.

By putting resources directly into the hands of families, MPCA empowers them to make decisions based on their own priorities. This approach not only restores dignity but also enables households to recover with confidence, build resilience, and create a more secure future for their families.

Together with DANIDA, ADRA South Sudan remains committed to supporting vulnerable communities as they recover, rebuild, and thrive.
