MEN 4 WOMEN SIGNS ONE-YEAR CAPACITY STRENGTHENING GRANT WITH MERCY CORPS

Men 4 Women (M4W) is proud to be among the 32 NGOs, CBOs and networks selected from more than 400 applicants to benefit from the Mercy Corps Capacity Strengthening Grant.

The official grant signing ceremony marks an important milestone in our organizational development journey, opening a new chapter of growth, institutional strengthening and improved programme delivery over the one-year grant period.

Through this support, Men 4 Women will strengthen its organizational governance, strategic direction, financial management, accountability systems, and staff and volunteer capacities to enhance our effectiveness, sustainability and impact.

We are grateful to Mercy Corps for this opportunity and for investing in the capacity of local civil society organizations to deliver meaningful and sustainable change in their communities.

This milestone reinforces our commitment to advancing gender equality, empowering communities, promoting inclusive peace and democracy, and strengthening civic engagement in South Sudan.

From Training to Action: Artists and Dancers Take the Lead in Yambio

Following a July training on positive masculinity, social norms transformation and GBV prevention, Men 4 Women is supporting artists and dancers in Yambio to turn learning into community action.

The training highlighted the potential of artists and dancers to use their creativity, influence and connection with communities to challenge harmful social norms and promote positive behaviours. As a follow-up, Men 4 Women met with representatives of the group to agree on practical ways to take the recommendations forward.

The next phase will involve engaging artists and dancers with skills in community dialogue, behaviour change communication and GBV prevention to facilitate planned community dialogues in their communities. The group will also collaborate with Men 4 Women to record a song carrying messages on positive masculinity, gender equality and GBV prevention, and organize a joint awareness activity combining dialogue, music and dance.

By taking messages beyond the training room and into communities, Men 4 Women aims to strengthen locally led efforts to prevent GBV and promote healthier, more equitable relationships in Yambio.

A New Chapter for Men 4 Women

On Friday, 14 August 2026, Men 4 Women (M4W) officially opened its new office in Juba Na Bari, marking an important milestone in our continued commitment to advancing gender equality, empowering communities, and building peace in South Sudan.

The office was officially opened by the State Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports (CentralEquatoriaState), alongside representatives from Government institutions, the United Nations, international and national organizations, development and humanitarian partners, civil society, and the private sector.

The opening brought together partners and friends who share our vision of a more inclusive, peaceful, and equitable South Sudan. It was also an opportunity to reflect on the journey of Men 4 Women and reaffirm our commitment to working collaboratively with communities, government and partners to promote gender equality, positive masculinity, women and girls’ empowerment, sexual and reproductive health and rights, peacebuilding and inclusive community development.

We are deeply grateful to the Government of South Sudan, the United Nations, international and national partners, private sector actors, civil society, community leaders, our Board, staff, volunteers and supporters for standing with Men 4 Women and contributing to this important milestone.

As we begin this new chapter from our Juba Na Bari office, we remain committed to strengthening partnerships, amplifying community voices and creating spaces where women, men, girls, boys and persons with disabilities can participate, thrive and contribute to a peaceful and equal society.

Together, we advance gender equality, empower communities, and build peace.
