GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY INITIATIVE.

We have delivered holiday relief to vulnerable individuals in Maridi County through a targeted food donation on Monday, 22 December 2025. We distributed maize flour, rice, sugar, and cooking oil to elderly men and women, orphans, and religious leaders at our headquarters - Maridi.

This intervention reflects our sustained commitment, championed by Hon. Africano Mande Gedima—to community welfare. Building on prior support, including assistance to Maridi Civil Hospital in September, we continue to ensure dignified celebrations for EVIs during this festive season.

99.4 Foundation FM Radio Launches “Tune & Win Hour” End-of-Year Listener Rewards Program

Maridi, Western Equatoria – December 10, 2024 – 99.4 Foundation FM Radio is ringing in the new year with an exciting new initiative aimed at boosting listener engagement and rewarding its loyal audience. The station has launched its “Tune & Win Hour” End-of-Year Listener Awards, a month-long program designed to incentivize regular listening and active participation.

Starting December 1, 2024, and running through January 1, 2025, the program will feature interactive call-in sessions, fun contests, and exclusive rewards for listeners who engage with the station’s various on-air offerings.

Weekly Call-In Sessions and Rewards

Listeners can take part in weekly live call-in sessions, scheduled during popular show slots, where they can answer trivia questions, share their favorite songs, or discuss themes highlighted in the program. Regular callers will have the chance to win exciting weekly prizes, including cash rewards ranging from SSP 50,000 to SSP 100,000, small FM radios, and exclusive Foundation FM-branded merchandise like T-shirts and caps.

At the end of each month, all participants who called in during the previous weeks will be entered into a drawing for a grand prize. This could include larger cash prizes (SSP 100,000), a solar-powered FM radio, or a premium Foundation FM gift pack.

In addition, a new “Loyal Listener Program” will allow regular participants to accumulate points with each call, which can be exchanged for unique experiences, such as tickets to exclusive parties or guided tours to AMF project sites in Maridi.

Social Media and Community Engagement

The station is also encouraging listeners to share their experiences on social media. Using the hashtag , fans can post their call-in moments, creative content, or feedback for a chance to win weekly rewards like T-shirts and caps. Foundation FM’s social media platforms, especially its page, will serve as key hubs for updates and interaction.

To further foster community spirit, special theme days will be organized throughout the program. Fans can participate in themed call-in events, such as “Throwback Thursdays” or “Flashback Fridays,” with prizes for those who contribute the most engaging content.

Listener of the Month and Special Events

Each month, one standout participant will be crowned “Listener of the Month.” This individual will receive special recognition on air, along with a prize package and a personal feature segment. The Listener of the Month will also be celebrated across Foundation FM’s social media channels, with the support of Hon. Africano Mande Gedima, who has pledged a special Christmas gift for the winner.

The station is also planning a series of live events and meet-ups, where listeners can connect with their favorite DJs and fellow fans. Attendees will be treated to exclusive Foundation FM merchandise and will have the chance to win even more prizes through mini-lotteries.

Collaborations with Local Businesses

In an effort to strengthen community ties, Foundation FM is partnering with local businesses for cross-promotions. Callers will be able to enjoy discounts and deals at participating stores and restaurants, further encouraging engagement. The station will also spotlight local artists, businesses, and charities, giving listeners the opportunity to support their community while participating in the program.

Marketing Strategy

The station plans to promote the “Tune & Win Hour” through a series of on-air jingles and promos, engaging social media visuals, and newsletters on its page to keep listeners informed about the rewards and how to participate. Flyers and posters will also be distributed at local businesses partnering with Foundation FM.

With this exciting new program, 99.4 Foundation FM aims to foster a dynamic, engaged, and loyal community of listeners, bringing fun and rewards to the airwaves while strengthening the bond with its audience in Maridi and Western Equatoria.

Urgent Call to Action: The Stranded Trucks of Mundri-Maridi Road

On October 25th, the Africano Mande Foundation’s (AMF) Technical Services team visited a massive pothole along the Mundri-Maridi Road—a road that is crucial for supplying goods to Western Equatoria State. This deep, 100-meter-long pothole has become a serious roadblock, stranding hundreds of trucks in Karika Boma, Mundri West County.

The head of AMF’s Technical Services, Mr. Francis John Abdallah, explained that this giant pothole grows worse during the rainy season, swallowing large trucks as they attempt to pass. For locals and truck drivers alike, this road is now a source of frustration, lost time, and hardship.

Alfred Juma Richard, the Boma Chief of Karika, shared his concerns, pointing out that the entire community suffers because of this impassable road. Since July, underground water has worsened the muddy terrain, causing the road to crumble even more. He urged the government to step in and address this dire situation.

For truck drivers like Juma Hezekiah, it’s a daily struggle. Stuck on the road for days, he and many other drivers are now fearful of traveling these routes due to poor conditions and numerous checkpoints. “The fees collected at checkpoints should be used to fix this road, but no one knows where that money goes,” he said.

John Hezekiah Paul, Executive Director of Maridi County, stressed that maintaining these roads is essential for delivering much-needed supplies to the people of Western Equatoria—especially those in Maridi, Ibba, Yambio, and Negero. The Maridi County government, in collaboration with AMF, has assessed the road and is preparing to begin repairs.

The people of Western Equatoria need our support and action. This road is their lifeline. Let us call for immediate help to restore it and bring relief to communities and drivers who are stranded.
