𝐉𝐔𝐁𝐀, πŒπ€π˜ πŸπŸ‘, πŸπŸŽπŸπŸ” β€” The Chairperson of Apuk Youth Union (AYU) in Juba, Agany Geng Ayiei, on Saturday morning met with the newly established β€œAYU Peace and Reconciliation Committee” (AYU-PRC) at Rio Hotel in Juba.

The committee, headed by Gom Reech Gom, popularly known as Albino Manut Young, was officially entrusted with powers and terms of reference by the AYU Executive Body to spearhead efforts aimed at promoting peace, reconciliation, and unity among the youth of the Apuk Community.

According to the directives issued by the leadership, the committee is mandated to prepare a concept note, engage relevant stakeholders within the community, and organize a two-day consultative meeting where members of the community will deliberate on peace, unity, and the possible way forward for the youth.

The committee is also expected to compile and submit a detailed report containing resolutions, recommendations, and agreed action points from the consultative meeting to the AYU Executive Committee for further consideration and implementation.

Speaking during the meeting, members of the committee accepted the responsibility and pledged their commitment to work diligently toward achieving lasting peace and unity within the community.

On his part, Chairperson Agany Geng Ayiei reaffirmed the willingness of the AYU leadership to support all efforts geared towards sustainable peace, reconciliation, and unity among the youth of the Apuk Community.

BREAKING: The Chairperson of Apuk Youth Union in Juba, Agany Geng Ayiei has appointed Prof. Kuel Maluil Jok as Patron of the Union as per article 28 (1) of the new Constitution.

According to Article 28 (2) of the Constitution of the Apuk Youth Union in Juba, the functions of the Patron are:

1. The Patron shall advise on issues of unity, social development, conflict resolutions, and matters related to projects of the union.

2. The Patron may advise the Chairperson and secretaries on their duties.

3. May call for a GA meeting for the election process if the Executive Committee fails to hand over the office after expiry of the tenure or call a GA meeting when there is a petition for a vote of no confidence in accordance with this Constitution.

The Apuk Youth Union (AYU) in Juba hereby informs interested members of the community that there are vacant positions within the Executive Committee for the following portfolios:

1. Secretary for Agriculture, Projects and Logistics

2. Secretary for Health (Applicant must be a medical personnel)

Interested candidates who are willing and committed to serving the Union are encouraged to express their interest and begin consultations regarding their possible appointments through the Office of the Chairperson.

In line with the provisions of the AYU Constitution, the two positions are reserved for female candidates in order to meet the constitutional gender requirement within the Executive Committee. The Constitution provides for an Executive Committee composed of 9 males and 4 females. Currently, the Committee has 2 female members, and these two appointments will complete the required representation.

The Union encourages qualified and dedicated young women to take up this opportunity to contribute to community development, youth empowerment, and leadership within AYU.

SUBJECT: RESOLUTIONS OF THE SECOND EXECUTIVE MEETING FOR 2026

The Apuk Youth Union (AYU) in Juba today convened its 2nd Executive Meeting for the year 2026 in accordance with Article 30 of the Union's Constitution. The meeting brought together members of the Executive Committee Chaired by the Chairperson, Agany Geng Ayiei to review the Union's achievements, assess ongoing activities, and deliberate on future plans and projects aimed at strengthening the organization and promoting unity among the youth and the wider community.

During the meeting, the Executive Committee resolved the following:

1. To establish a Fundraising Committee for the construction of the AYU Center in Eden. The Chairperson was tasked with forming an Organizing Committee in line with Article 34 of the Constitution.

2. To organize a two-day Consultative Meeting that will bring together community leaders from the Apuk Community in Juba, sectional community and youth leaders, Members of Parliament, influential elders and youths, leadership wings of the community, and intellectuals to discuss and promote unity among youths in Juba.

3. Approved the appointment of newly introduced Secretaries provided for in the amended Constitution, namely the Secretary for Agriculture, Projects and Logistics, and the Secretary for Health, in accordance with Article 25 (1)(a). The Executive also endorsed the appointment of the Union's Patron pursuant to Article 28(1).

The Executive Committee reaffirmed its commitment to fostering unity, development, and peaceful coexistence among the youth and the wider community.
