Internal betrayal is slowly weakening Aweil.
For too long, some Aweilian politicians have made it a habit to fight their own brothers instead of supporting them, especially when one of us rises to serve at the national level. Despite the goodwill and unity shown toward Aweil by President Salva Kiir Mayardit, it is painful to see internal jealousy and personal interests repeatedly destroy our own.
Political differences are normal.
But betraying your own brother for money or personal gain is not politicsβit is sabotage.
This culture has cost Aweil strong representation, broken trust among leaders, and sent a dangerous message to the younger generation that betrayal is a shortcut to success. It is not. It only weakens us as a people.
No leader is perfect, and constructive criticism is necessary. However, there is a big difference between correcting one another and deliberately lobbying to bring down your own community members.
Aweil has the capacity, the numbers, and the talent. What we need now is political maturity, unity, and accountability among ourselves. We must learn to resolve differences as brothers, not enemies.
If we do not stop this repeating cycle of jealousy and internal destruction, it will continue to haunt usβregardless of who holds office.
Betraying your own brother for money is not leadership.
It is a sickness that must be cured.
For the future of Aweil, this must end.
May God bless Aweillians ππ½βπ½
