About YDLF:

YDLF is a non-profit, youth-led, and community-based organization that empowers South Sudanese youth. YDLF is a national entity that aims to expand its projects and influence positive youth-led initiatives for South Sudanese. Founded in 2021, it will implement various projects across South Sudan, with hopes of expansion to the most affected areas. We also operated outside through two

coordination offices in Cairo and Khartoum. We actively support South Sudanese humanitarian relief and developmental efforts. We are working to build peaceful, resilient communities that restore peace and hope in South Sudan. To that end, YDLF addresses social justice, human development, youth and women empowerment, leadership, gender equity and equality, environmental sustainability, and promotes humanitarian assistance and development support in South Sudan. 📢CMRS Special Edition Short Course📢

What: Refugee Entitlements in Egypt Short Course

When: November 21, 22, 23, 28, 29, 30 from 5-8pm Cairo time

Where: Online via ZOOM

Details: Drawing on the findings of the “Refugee Entitlements in Egypt”-Project, a four-year project conducted by the Center for Migration and Refugee Studies (CMRS) at the American University in Cairo (AUC) and funded by the European Union, the course will provide participants with an in-depth analysis of asylum-seekers’ and refugees’ entitlements in Egypt and their ability to access these entitlements in practice with a particular focus on the legal aspect.

Who: It is designed for recent practitioners in direct services with an interest in refugee and migrants’ rights and academics in the field of international refugee law and migration.

About the Instructor: Claire McNally holds an MA in Global Affairs and Security Studies and an LL.M. in International & Comparative Law from the American University in Cairo. She is the former Lead Researcher of the Refugee Entitlements in Egypt Project at the Center for Migration and Refugee Studies. Currently, she is a 3rd year Juris Doctorate student at the University of Illinois College of Law where she ranks second in her class. Prior to attending law school, she lived in both Amman, Jordan and Cairo, Egypt for 6 years working with displaced populations.
