Inauguration Speech by the Chairman of LNYAD during BCYA inauguration.
Date: Sept 28, 2025
Venue: Gumbo Sherikat
Distinguished Guests, Fellow Youth Leaders, Ladies and Gentlemen,
Good morning.
It is with great honor and deep respect that I stand before you today as the Chairman of the Lou Nuer Youth Association for Development, to congratulate the newly elected Chairman of the Bor Community Youth Association and his entire leadership team.
Today is not just a celebration of a successful transition of leadership. It is a celebration of our shared culture, identity, and social life as youth of Jonglei State. Despite the distances between our counties and the challenges we face, we remain bound together by our common values, traditions, and aspirations. Our livelihoods may differ in practice, but they are united in spirit - anchored in resilience, unity, and a vision for a better future.
Let me also emphasize the power of collaboration. The youth of Jonglei - be it from Lou, Twic, Duk, Bor, Fangak, Pigi, Ayod, Pibor and Pochalla of GPAA - must work hand in hand. We must continue to champion dialogue, peacebuilding, and reconciliation. We are the generation that must rise above historical divisions and become ambassadors of lasting peace in our communities.
One powerful way to do this is through sports and cultural engagement. As LNYAD, we are committed to initiatives such as organizing the Jonglei Football League and the Jonglei Cultural Festival. These platforms not only entertain and unite us, but they also promote healing, understanding, and brotherhood. Through such activities, we break barriers and cement the unity of our people.
In conclusion, I call on all youth leaders present here today to walk this journey together. Let us support one another, uplift our communities, and invest in a peaceful and prosperous Jonglei. To the new leadership of Bor Community Youth Association—congratulations once again. We look forward to working closely with you.
May unity and peace prevail in Jonglei. May the youth be the light of transformation.
Thank you, and God bless you all.
Hon Gatwech Nguanjiok,
Chairman,
Lou Nuer Youth Association for Development (LNYAD) - Juba
