Today, we pledge to invest in women's education, their health, their safety, and their empowerment. We recognize that when women are supported and given the opportunities they deserve, they can flourish and contribute in ways that benefit us all. By investing in women, we invest in a brighter, more equitable future for generations to come.

In 1995 at the World Conference in Beijing countries unanimously adopted the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action – for advancing the rights of not only women but girls. The Beijing Declaration is the first to specifically call out girls’ rights. On December 19, 2011, United Nations General Assembly adopted Resolution 66/170 and declared October 11 as the “International Day of the Girl Child” to recognize girls’ rights and the unique challenges girls face around the world.

Ever since then organizations and movements across the globe commemorate this day each year. However, given the many efforts that made are to amplify girls voice and provide solution still not adequate. Therefore, there’s need for government, private sectors and organizations to collectively work together to create conducive environments for the girl child to thrive.

This requires all to collectively go beyond reaffirming commitments and invest in action needed to make a tangible impact.

Period poverty is a reality for too many girls. Not being able to afford or access clean and safe menstrual product is detrimental to one’s wellbeing, education and physical health. Poor menstrual hygiene management can lead to reproductive infections and urinary tract disease.

As girls returned to schools, let’s make sure they have access to the materials they need, to feel comfortable and confident in school.

Every little count.

Last week we held fundraising event with an aimed raising funds for completion of our “first menstruation station in South Sudan” a space that will sever a safe space for sexual reproductive health conversations and as well provides access to menstrual materials for women and girls, given the fact that million of South Sudanese women live below the poverty line and most can not afford to buy sanitary materials to cop up with their monthly period which later affect their day-to-day activities and performances.

In response to that challenge that women and girls face, we are selling these books, each goes for 20$ and 10% of Uncaging will go in support of completing the construction of the “first menstruation station in South Sudan” support us by buying any of these.
