We welcome the approval of the Nurses & Midwives Bill 2025, a key step toward strengthening our health system.

Congratulations to South Sudan Nurses and Midwives Association SSNAMA
But for this law to truly work, frontline nurses, midwives, and their professional associations must be fully consulted. Their voices are critical to ensuring:
1- Safe and supportive working conditions
2. Professional standards and accountability.
3- High-quality care for mothers and children

Inclusive consultation is not optional it is essential. Let’s ensure this Bill empowers those who serve our communities every day and improves health outcomes and its significant step toward strengthening our health system in South Sudan. πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡Έ

Kicking Off with Impact – NASOSS 7th AGM Day 1!

Today marks the first day of the 7th NASOSS Annual General Meeting, held under the
theme: "Strengthening Community Systems for a Sustainable HIV, TB, Viral Hepatitis, and Malaria Response: Uniting Voices, Driving Impact.”

This forum provides a critical space to discuss innovative strategies for sustainability, particularly amidst the global decline in official assistance.

Day 1 featured distinguished guests:
Hon. Dr. Justin Kawac Kawac (SSAC Chairperson, Guest of Honour), representatives from NEPWU, SSNeP+, UNAIDS, UNDP, CCM, AMREF, SSAC, NASOSS BoDs, and leading Civil Society Organizations in South Sudan.

The AGM focuses on:
πŸ”Ή Validating NASOSS’ Strategic Workplan, M&E Framework, and Costed Operational Plan
πŸ”Ή Reflecting on outcomes from the 6th AGM (2024) and reviewing organizational performance
πŸ”Ή Hosting an extended CSRG session on health financing and Community-Led Monitoring (CLM) findings

Expected outcomes:
βœ… Validated Strategic Workplan & M&E Framework
βœ… Approved Workplan & Budget for 2025–2026
βœ… Recommendations on domestic health financing
βœ… Documented state-level progress & challenges
βœ… Clear guidance on the future of NASOSS and its AGM

With fruitful deliberations and active engagement, Day 1 has set a strong foundation for the remaining sessions.

"Health has become an insecurity."

Every life lost due to preventable illness is a reminder that our health system is under siege. Let us unite to invest in a system that protects, not abandons, our people.
