AAPG Suriname Student Chapter

The AAPG Suriname Student Chapter is a non-profit student led organization consisting mainly of Geoscience students.

The organization is focusing on the development of professional and leadership skills. The Student Chapter Program of AAPG is made up of collegiate groups of geoscience students and one of the world's foremost co-educational programs within the geoscience sector with over 245 chapters. It provides students the opportunity to develop leadership skills and serves as a focal point for developing a fe

eling of professionalism through meeting industry representatives. We are proud to have established a student chapter in Suriname for upcoming geoscientists.

On March 29, 2026, the AAPG Student Chapter Suriname attended the first ALV of the SEG Student Chapter.

This was not only a special invitation, but also our first collaboration together — with more to come!

On April 10th, the AAPG Suriname Student Chapter successfully hosted its General Members Meeting (ALV).

During the meeting, we provided chapter updates, officially welcomed our new members, and strengthened connections within our growing community. We are excited about the continued growth of our chapter.

A big thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to a great evening. We ended the meeting with a fun game, followed by light snacks and drinks.

We look forward to many more engaging activities together!

On March 5th, we hosted an insightful webinar exploring the similarities and differences between the Surinamese and Brazilian petroleum industries 🇸🇷🇧🇷

From geological settings to exploration strategies and industry development, the session sparked meaningful discussions and knowledge exchange among participants.
