On December 9, the AAPG Young Professionals Suriname Chapter and SPE Suriname, together with TotalEnergies, hosted a technical talk on the GranMorgu Project: A New Dawn for Suriname🇸🇷
The session walked members through key aspects of the project, from Geoscience and Development to Project Management and the FPSO.

We’re grateful for the support from TotalEnergies and all our industry partners who helped make the event a success. Seeing the audience’s energy and participation was a real highlight!

AAPG Young Professionals participated in the AAPG-SPE Basin Studies Workshop & Technical Symposium, held from April 30 to May 2! 🌎

From basin-wide insights to reservoir-focused studies, our YPs shared impressive work and brought strong contributions. 🗺️📝

We also had the chance to collaborate and share insights with fellow geoscientists from across the region. Certainly an inspiring few days of learning and connecting!

On November 21st, 2024, the AAPG Young Professionals Suriname Chapter hosted the inspiring event Navigating the Future: Oil and Gas Developments in Suriname with Annand Jagesar🇸🇷

Annand shared valuable insights on Suriname’s recent developments, the Granmorgu project in Block 58, local content, and career advice for current and upcoming young professionals. His heart-to-heart talk left everyone feeling motivated and empowered! 💫

In addition, key highlights of the chapter’s activities over the past year were shared, along with exciting upcoming projects.

Looking back on a successful Ready to Work Program organized by the AAPG YP Suriname Chapter in collaboration with the AAPG YP Trinidad & Tobago Chapter on the 21st, 22nd, 28th and 29th of September 2024🌟

The RTW program consisted of an intensive 4-day online programme with technical talks focusing on Exploration & Play Analysis, Petroleum System Modeling, Risk and Resource Estimation, Fundamentals of Geophysics and Critical Minerals and the Energy Transition. These talks were followed by Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, Reservoir Characterization, Resume & Interview Tips and the Evolution of the Energy Industry and how this impacts your marketability. These series of technical talks were closed off by a virtual fieldtrip on the last day.
