Empowering Communities, GADO Organization Launches Marginalised Awareness Initiative.

We are proud to officially launch the Marginalised Awareness Initiative in Warsan IDP Camp, located in the in Mogadishu.

This initiative is a key part of our commitment to empowering vulnerable and marginalised groups—especially internally displaced persons, women, youth, and persons with disabilities.
Through awareness sessions, community dialogue, and inclusive engagement, we aim to address the challenges these groups face and promote their rights, dignity, and active participation in society.

Our goal is to create stronger, more inclusive communities where every individual is seen, heard, and valued.
Together, we are taking steps toward greater equality and resilience.

GADO Organization has successfully held awareness sessions on child protection at the Dulmi-Diid IDP camp in the Garasbaley district of the Banadir Region in Somalia. These sessions aimed to promote children's rights and help families understand their responsibilities toward their children, with the goal of reducing violence against children in Somalia. Additionally, we provided support and assistance to survivors of such violence.

Through these awareness initiatives, we are striving to foster a safer environment for all participants in our ongoing interventions, especially for children.

GADO Organization has successfully conducted a one-day awareness session on Female Ge***al Mutilation (FGM) at Al-Raxma IDP Camp in Garasbaley District, Banadir Region, Somalia, reaching 250 households.

And we also collect data on FGM practices to better understand the scope of the issue and inform our interventions. We manage FGM cases, providing crucial assistance and support to survivors.

By raising awareness and gathering vital data, we are working to create a safer environment for everyone involved in our ongoing efforts.

🌧️ 𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗦𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝘃𝘆 𝗥𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀 & 𝗙𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗵 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗱𝘀 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗩𝘂𝗹𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀.

Last night, heavy rains and flash floods tragically claimed lives among vulnerable groups, including children and the elderly. Entire families have been left with nothing but despair.

Today, GADO Organization mobilized to assess the impact and reach those in urgent need. What we witnessed was heartbreaking.

👉 As GADO, we urgently call on humanitarian actors, donors, and partners to respond immediately. Families are in critical need of shelter, food, clean water, and medical care.

Let us come together to stand with those who have lost everything. Their future depends on our compassion and solidarity.

GADO Organization has successfully conducted three day training aims to equip community leaders and gatekeepers from Sahal and Shafici IDPs camps in kahda Banadir Region with the knowledge and skills necessary to prevent Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in displacement contexts.

Acknowledging the vital role these leaders play in influencing social norms and protecting vulnerable groups, these activities are designed to raise awareness, strengthen protective mechanisms to promote inclusivity and safeguard the rights of all beneficiaries, and enhance community accountability.

By raising awareness about Gender-Based violence and sexual exploitation, we’re working to create a safer environment for everyone involved in our ongoing interventions.

Fadum’s Story: A Voice of Resilience and Strength 💪

Fadum’s story is one of resilience. After fleeing her home due to conflict, she was displaced and forced to start life over in an unfamiliar environment.

In the face of displacement, Fadum experienced multiple forms of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) — including discrimination, harassment, and emotional abuse. Like many Somali women, she was left vulnerable, unheard, and without protection.

But Fadum didn’t give up. She found strength through support groups and awareness sessions, where she learned her rights and connected with others who shared similar stories. She turned her pain into power — and now stands as a voice for change in her community.

👉 GADO Organization stands committed to addressing the protection concerns of marginalized groups, ensuring inclusive access to basic services, and fostering resilience among displaced communities across Somalia.
