With the support of
Umbrella for Relief and Rehabilitation Organization-URRO is implementing health and nutrition project in qasaxdheere district under the project title of Integrated Life-Saving Health and nutrition Services to the Most Vulnerable Communities in Under-Served and Hard-to-Reach Rural Areas of Qansax-dheere

The organization conducted a structured field supervision visit to monitor ongoing activities, provide technical guidance to frontline staff, and ensure adherence to quality standards and program objectives. Such supervision strengthens accountability and supports effective service delivery at the community level.

We participated in a ceremony marking , organized by the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management SWS and United Nations OCHA Somalia .
The event brought together representatives from various government ministries, humanitarian organizations, and members of civil society. Participants reflected on the critical role of humanitarian action in alleviating promotion an efficient and accountable Humanitarian response system. The event was highlighted the vital role of humanitarian efforts in saving lives and alleviating suffering, particularly among vulnerable communities across southwest state.

🌍❤️ As URRO prepares to mark World Humanitarian Day tomorrow, we extend our sincere gratitude to United Nations OCHA Somalia and the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management SWS , under the leadership of Minister Abdinasir Abdi Arush , for their efforts in organizing this day, and to UNICEF Somalia for its continued support to humanitarian work across the country.

On August 13, a high-level international agreement was reached among key stakeholders in the water resource management sector, led by the of Energy and Water Resources, alongside INGOs, LNGOs, and private sector companies such as Warjinay, F***j, and Caafi.

The meeting, held under the theme Public-Private Partnership (PPP), was attended by several ministers, including the Minister of Energy and Water Resources, the Minister of Planning, and the Minister of Livestock.

The IOM Somalia provided support to the Ministry, with legal experts facilitating discussions on the legal dimensions of water governance. The organization also participated in the forum, contributing its perspectives on addressing community needs and finding sustainable solutions.

The event concluded with an exchange of experiences, presentations, and constructive consultations, reinforcing a shared vision to enhance water service delivery for communities in South West State.

📢 SRF Training Successfully Conducted in Qansax Dheere!

Umbrella for Relief and Rehabilitation Organization-URRO, in collaboration with IOM Somalia , successfully supported a two-day training on the newly endorsed (SRF) in Qansax Dheere from 27 to 28 July 2025.

This important training brought together ABC partners in the district, led by as the ABC focal agency. The training has strengthened household-level data collection through the use of a standardized tool that incorporates biometric registration, vulnerability scoring, and sector-specific indicators.
The training was jointly facilitated by URRO staff with strong technical support from colleagues.

This marks a key step toward improving coordinated response and informed decision-making in humanitarian programming.

Our team participated in the Humanitarian Country Forum, where key actors from South West State, the Federal Government, UN agencies, NGOs, and civil society came together to discuss sustainable solutions for Somalia's humanitarian response.
